Transfans.com Tomb of Relics!

Post by Best First » Thu Nov 24, 2005 11:46 am

For your amusement we (by which i mean Denyer) have recovered the topics that used to reside in our old archive back at Transfans.com.

Why not waste your entire afternoon at work reviewing the fun, frolics and troll decapitation that we considered worthy of saving back in the day.

Boo!

Top stuff, though. Nice little sojourn down memory lane. Was that all really two years ago? Shocking.

You have no honour. :(

It actually gets better with age. And with all the developments at (now non-existenet) DreamWave.

:D Ahh... I missed that Pulp Jedi!
DOOKU: Any of you f**kers move and I'll dice each and every last one of you!!
But why aren't any of my topics anywhere to be seen in this?! :x

Surely my "There's no such thing as female Transfans!" -thread is pure legend?? :D

BTW, Besters, what WAS your real name? :o You ought to remembe mine, since it's the foremost swedish stereotype-name of em' all. I recall it as... Paul. But I don't recall a last name, so I'm gonna call you Buchannon. That ok?

EDIT: Ey, waitaminute.. I coulda sworn I posted in the "I wouldn't normaly do this"-thread back in the day.. are you sure that's the entire thread? I remember it being several pages long.

Because none of them got thrown into the archive on the old board.

They were all several pages long - they've each been reformatted into one page.

Yes, it's a double post, but I don't care!

Can we cross-reference the Ishin stuff with this thread from TFA:

?

He was.

Of Bwoose.

But now Bwoose is the alt.

Did any jexirian stuff survive, btw? Or Commander Shockwav and his particular brand of whatever it was that's made his name stick out in my mind?

Commander Shockwav was around during the lifetime of transfans.net, so a lot of his stuff is probably still here.

With apologies to PP, I don't think I noticed him beforehand. Tended to skim GD and occasionally read 'G1'.

Shockers is still around at the Archive, Seibs and IDW. Pleasant chap if you're discussing TFs.

If I'd had broadband at the time we made the switch, I'd have archived the whole UBB on a whim. As is, just the user accounts (which was the plan) and the archives (which was a whim.)

It's quite possible I may have some old threads saved (something I stopped doing much a year or two back) but whether they're complete or complete up until the point I stopped reading them, where the CDs are, etc, I presently dunno.

The plan for an Archive quote file hit similar walls of time, patience and a disinclination to read most of the forum.

The 'best pat lee pic ever' post is one of the greatest threads ever.

It still cracks me up.

Yeah, but "somebody" pruned a load of ye olde posts. I'm not going to name names, because he's in charge and might ban me for it...

Rereading those Iraq threads was fascinating, but I know there were several more prior to the "official" Iraq thread. If I remember correctly, most of the interesting debates happened in those. Love to see them again.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, BF
