About time, that the Battlechargers will be used for something else then getting killed by Sharkticons, Sunstorm and pretty much anything Mad Brick decides.
Those two deserve mini - "Runabout and Runamuck take over America" or ... yeah, sumthin like that... whatever.
My only gripe about IDW - why only in 2006?Can't they print the stuff in a month!? I want my mothly comic now!!!

Thanks! It's just that finally I'm using my very own style: not having to follow an "anime" style means I can use blacks, textures e crosshatching -which I love to put in my pieces.Predabot wrote:Yeah I gotta say, if you see this Mr Guidi, that Bumblebee cover is some of your best work yet.
I'd also like to fling in that your style seems to be evolving, and in a positive way at that, a lot lately.
This was not allowed when working for DW: it would have been in conflict with colorists' work and with the anime look they wanted to achieve.

Well, I guess we all kinda 'guessed' it. Now there can be no doubt. Damn, DW had some strict rules.GUIDO wrote:Thanks! It's just that finally I'm using my very own style.

How did you feel about the colorists work on those pencils btw, as opposed to your/colourists work for the convention-comics, and of course, the new IDW-age?

personally i was reallu intrigued when you stated in our interview that you wanted to do something less detail intensive and more akin to the earlier TF art - i think your early (and sadly dropped) MTMtE cover with Max and Galvy was maybe more in that vein and personally i'd love to see more stuff like that. Whilst i respect the endevour some artistis put into detailing their TF work i often feel it actually distracts from the storytelling aspectGUIDO wrote:Thanks! Hmm... not entirely sure the demand's there. Most of the stories have both been in circulation and published online by BotCon... added to which, they often read as toy promotion material, even more so than the original series and US comic. There may be trades of the old Convention comics,
Nifty.called "Hearts of Steel" and feature the Transformers being around the same time as Thomas Edison and they want to do Da Vinci inspired Transformers issue too.
(Da Vinci? http://tfarchive.com/creative/gallery.php?s=456 <-- fourth_heir's stab at it.)
Preview pages look great, especially the detailing on real-world items, and am also digging the pace. Will probably get either the Guido or Wildman cover.
The results certainly pay off.GUIDO wrote:I can use blacks, textures e crosshatching

There's some novelty value in Wheelie and Daniel checking out, I suppose.
(Thinking about it... if a trade paperback were possible, I think a shelf copy might be well-received even by those who've already got the comics. Plus it'd forestall the usual whining from collectors that's elicited when limited-edition stuff gets reprinted in its original form.)
