A special message from Andrew Wildman:
Wanna be part of something big?

I am currently working on a fundraising project that, as an appreciator of the world of comics, I would greatly appreciate your help in reaching its full potential. This is a long one but please take the time to read through

The aim:

Comics creators around the world are currently working on pieces of artwork that express who they are as a comics community. By doing this they are aiming to raise funds for the children in the world who will probably never have the opportunity to grow up in the comics world that inspired them as children and enabled them to express that as adults. A way of uniting the whole global comics community in a virtual event that will raise funds for those children less fortunate than ourselves.

The Structure:

There will be two simultaneous virtual events that will coincide at a given time.

On Monday 26th September pieces of work submitted by comics professionals will start to appear on the ÔDraw the World TogetherÕ website where it will be available to view by way of viewers making a donation to a given charity.
On Monday 17th October a one week auction will begin (through eBay) of all the pieces of original artwork. All funds will again go to the given charity.

All news and results will be available on the site in the last week of October.

The Charity:

We have now arranged with the charity ÔEverychildÕ to have all the funds we raise go directly to a project that creates the possibility for street children in some of the poorest communities in Africa, South America and Eastern Europe to have the opportunity to spend time in a classroom situation. To give them the opportunity to learn. We all know that having the basics of an education allowed us to enjoy the opportunity to read books and comics. Without that the whole world of fun and fantasy that we continue to enjoy is simply not available. More information on there work in this area can be seen at: www.everychild.org.uk/whatwedo

Where do you come in?:

We are setting up the possibility for you to be involved in the expansion of this project. The world of comics only survives through the interest of its fans. The work of this project will only survive with the help of people like you. How can you help? Simple. All we ask is that you forward this email on to your friends and fellow comics readers. If you want to do more visit our support page at www.drawtheworldtogether.com/support.html where you can download a banner to place anywhere you have access.

Lets make the comics community create a difference.
