I hope that this little experience convinced Mad Brick to never write for TF again

James and Adam have written something worthwhile there (which makes a change from their TF script output). It's still a pity how they were treated by the Lee brothers.

Si Furman was owed lots of wages too. I wonder why he's seemingly less vocal about this sad affair? Maybe he's been through something similar in the past, and experience had taught him that cutting one's losses and saying little is the path of least resistance in the long term, as distasteful as it may seem to let Pat and pals 'off the hook'? Or maybe Furman was also raging about the DW situation and was about to jump ship in a similar fashion to Patyk and McDonough. Who knows.

To really compound the terrible non-payment situations, the underhanded press-releasing, secret-emailing, and messageboard sniping 'n' masquerading against DW's unpaid creators were totally indecent on DW/Lee's part.

This comes at a good time, just when Lee appears to be picking up some high-profile work. Hopefully it'll inform some of the buying public for that work what an underhand assclown he was to work for. Huzzah for Newsarama.
Wouldn't mind seeing someone ask Joe Q about what he thinks of Pat Lee.

Furman's said his piece about the DW thing when he's been asked, there was at least one interview on the web and what he said at AA, I think. He's never dished dirt but has been reasonably straightforward about saying that what happened was shocking and that he was badly let down by Pat Lee, IIRC.
Don't think he be unprofessional enough to voluntarily dish the goss, tbh, altho it'd probably be quite justifiable to do so.

Good interview, if a trifle repetitive.

Surprising that Furman stayed till the bitter end, but he wasn't the only optimist at DW to get let down.

I was rather surprised that they hung on as long as they did. I'd have done a load of important (to Dreamwave) work and then refused to hand it over until I'd been fully paid - y'know - dangle a carrot back at Pat Lee and see how he liked it.
I'd have also left ages ago. Seemed a bit naive to me.

Anyone who owes someone $40,000 - and at the same time owns his own porsche and beach house condo needs a serious lesson in morality.

I wouldnt employ him, there are plenty of great artists out there, who are probably cheaper, and more honourable then him.

I wonder if there is an email address we can write to at Marvel and say, "we won't buy anything Pat Lee works on."

The guy spent the money my wife made designing ads for a phone book company on strippers. She worked dang hard for that money. I'm pissed. I'm just glad I stopped buying DW before the end.

Yeah, this interview doesn't exactly make them better writers ("We were SO looking forward to making the movie into a comic!"), but (and admittedly, according to them) they seem to have tried their best to put their heart and soul into the comic as long as they could despite the Titanicesque action unfolding around them.

As Impy said, it's amazing that Pat Lee could live the life he does and sleep at night.

What about what they said about getting paid for AoW if and when it comes out? They'll get royalties for the G1 V3 TPB, right?

You would think so, but yeah, some of the things that have been said kinda indicate otherwise, don't they?

Check out the comments. Someone 'shopped that sad explodo DW pic using a recent sa.com photoshop friday theme.
