Up until a few minutes ago, the most common answer to this question would be, "Nothing, Smooth. You dolt! What's Target ever done for anything? Ignore all the Star Wars exclusives, they don't count, it's Star Wars!" But now, the answer becomes much less obvious (though calling me a dolt is usually a good response anyway). This interesting listing was discovered in Target store computers.
"Trans Beast Wars 10th Anniv 81147 - $14.99 #087-06-0761"
Well now, what could this be?
It could be a Robotmasters figure (or figures) released as a Target exclusive to celebrate (btw, "celebrate" always means "squeeze money out of fans when used in reference to a product) the 10th Anniversary of Beast Wars. Since Robotmasters Optimus Primal and Megatron (yeeeesss) are about the size of Basic figures, this price would be reasonable...though that has never been much of a factor in the past.
It could be a DVD of some sort. A "Best of Beasties" DVD perhaps? Though, as any Beast Wars fan will tell you, most of Beast Wars was pure gold, there were a few episodes that were better than the rest. Stick a couple of Season 2 and 3 episodes on a DVD and the twelve people who didn't buy the DVDs will probably pick it up.
It could be...absolutely anything. For all we (I) know, it could be a repackaged G1 Smokescreen reissue with a Beast Wars sticker on it. Alright, odds are that's not what it is, but hey, I've been wrong before.

Most of the time this is true. This one, however, came from about 15 different sources. Rather than name them all, I name none. I'm lazy and the sources don't particularly care much.Karl Lynch wrote:Master Smooth's rumours often have private or anonymous sources.
For the news stuff I post, there'll be sources, for rumors...well, who wants to be known as the person who started a rumor?

If I was truly smooth, I wouldn't have forgotten to log in, now would I? Yes. Just to throw people off! Which, apparently, I've failed at. I think what you meant to say was...
Me too though. And what's with that "TRANSFORMERS BOTCON EXCLUSIVE PROTOTYPE - UNKNOWN" bs? If it were a repaint okay, maybe the title would make sense. But the alt. mode, the robot appearance, the color scheme (from what I can see anyway)... ...Waspinator much?
In fact, were I you, I'd make that my exclusive TransFans.net Sig. You know, for spite.Autobloke wrote:Meh.
I hope not.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Wonder what happened there. What's up with no edit button in this forum?
The post was suppose to read as...
Really though, Waspinator for the BotCon exclusive? He was the lovable comedy relief ffs. Such a figure might have been great back then, but is late right now. A ginormous deluxe Transmetal II Dinobot would have been nice. Though given the recent "that's just the way things are"-esque speech from what's his face... ...well.... ...I've got these two hands here. One's waiting on some hopes & dreams, the other could use a rinse.

Kind of like you and that whole definition of "benevolent" eh?
Thanks for deleting that screwy post though, now that's some moderating.

Like attempting to ensure people respect decisions made for the benefit of the board rather than take the piss out of them? Yeah, missed it entirely.Señior's Covenant wrote:Kind of like you and that whole definition of "benevolent" eh?
If you don't like the rules and/or admin decisions do something constructive about it.

I'll take that into consideration BF, really I will. I only joked as I thought posting..
...directly into Autobloke's post rather than pming him about your initial concern seemed a bit much. I missed nothing, it was a joke. Kindly bite me if you don't like the way I tried to add some relieving humor to the situation.***IN FUTURE POSTS LIKE THIS WILL BE DELETED - PLEASE STOP SPAMMING*** - BF

People see spam. People see nothing being done about it. People think it's okay.
I'd always prefer to see a warning dished out in public. That way nobody can turn around and say "waah, you let him do it!"
Grrr. Argh.

Eh, I'm more for discretion starting out myself. And that's my "constructive" criticism. It wasn't as if Autobloke was some newb posting links to promote his website or one word posts everywhere. Whatever, my two cents.

No, he's an "established" member who's been here long enough not to be posting one-liners that contribute absolutely nothing other than increased bandwidth bills.Señior's Covenant wrote:It wasn't as if Autobloke was some newb posting links to promote his website or one word posts everywhere.
Some people around here seem to post for the sake of posting, rather than to actually say something. And I for one am getting pretty damn annoyed by it.
The term "newb" is completely and utterly subjective. To me, he is one.
Grrr. Argh.

How do you know there hasn't been a PM?
uh?
what?
see?
This isn't my 'inital' concern and you have no basis for concluding that it is.
If you could explain why i would want deliberately pointed comments to be defused by "relieving humor" i'd be curious to hear it.
ergo
Of course if you had just p'md me (as the board rules clearly state you should do if unhappy with an admins actions) to state you thought i could have handled things differently i could have explained why i did things in this manner.
Rules of the internet #12456 - Taking the piss when site staff are trying to make a serious point will never end well for you.

i believe that was covered with the 'piss off' above.Kindly bite me if you don't like the way I tried to add some relieving humor to the situation.

fairly sure that ain't the case...
not to mention there have been several warnings about spam and remaining on topic so the notion that this was some kind of initial salvo remains ill informed at best.
'duly noted' tends to work better if you stop talking afterwards;
Your interjection was ill advised and unwarrented, now shut up and don't do it again.
