I have been doing a lot of reflecting on the past couple of months. I can say this:
I have a lot of people that I know.
a lot of people that I consider to be acquaintances.
Few that I actually call my friend.

To me, a friend is someone that should the need for justice arise, I will be there like Batman. A friend is a family member that is not necessarily bound by blood, but by something much more important, choice. A friend is someone that you could not speak to in a decade, but you will pick up your last conversation right where it left off like no time was spent in between meetings.
I am very careful about who I call my friend, because it is a lifetime bond to me. Even if I am angry, hurt, or disappointed you will always be my friend. I will always be there with a beer in hand, smile on my face, and a shoulder to lean on.

Vegas sealed it for me: Spencer, Rob, and Paul are my friends. Always have been. Always will be.

I am saddened at the thought that I will not get many opportunities in my lifetime to enjoy this friendship face to face. However, I am damned determined to make the most out of each chance we get.

So now it is time to plan the next get together!
