Just to be sure: it has a scene in the middle of the credits, and then one after credits, too? And the last one is actually, let's call it important, not Avengers sitting in silence for 30 seconds and hiding facial hair?

There are indeed two credits scenes.

The first one is at the midpoint of the credits - after the flashy montage animated type credits sequence (before the rolling text) and is a set-up for future films.

There is then a coda after the credits, which you're probably not going to be too upset about if you miss.

Yes - the last one could basically be summarised as an expensive cgi version of "Grr. Argh".

I enjoyed it - slightly ploddy in places but overall good fun and the closing fight scenes basically showed Man of Steel how it should have been done - and agree about the spoliery thing above being clever. Although also thought that bit looked rather like they had accidentally wandered onto the set of Dr Who.

Seems like most stuff at the moment is setting up GoG rather than Avengers 2, altho i suspect Winter Soldier may do more of that.

On that note, the other cameo in this was fantastic. I like it when they have fun with things like that, just because, you know, they can.

I like the way they've shuffled the Infinity colours around so that we wouldn't guess it straight away (I'm giving the benefit of the doubt here and guessing that's what they've done).

Tesseract is blatantly the Space Gem

Assuming that the Aether is the Reality Gem, given Ecclescake wanted to use it to reshape the realms to his wishes?

"Hey, let's give one of six really powerful artifacts to a guy who's actually called The Collector and then tell him where he can get a second. How could that go wrong?" Oh, King Loki, you really are a scamp.

I think Malekith didn't want to reshape the nine worlds, but simply destroy them. Therefore Aether could as well be Power "Gem". And I don't really know what the Space one should do, but IIRC Red Skull used Tesseract as a battery of sorts to power HYDRA gear, and Loki to power the portal, so maybe in the movies they're just six powerful devices/weapons that have no specific designations like Space, Time, Power, etc? Although I'd prefer that's not the case, because it seems less interesting.

On general, I think I liked the first one better, however this one's final fight was much more fun.

Boo for Warriors Three and Sif getting the short end of the stick screentime-wise (they were in it even less than in the first one?).

I sure wish 2 Broke Girls didn't suck. I'd love to have a weekly dose of Kat Dennings, but not like that.

I would LOVE if "cleaning after the events of Thor: The Dark World" would involve capturing that Jotunheim creature that stayed behind in London, but that probably won't happen.

I'd need to rewatch Captain America, but didn't the Tesseract-fueled Hydra weapons cause stuff to vanish? Which could back up its spacey role.

Of course it could just be a case of "it's the space gem, but because it's the space gem it's also a really powerful source of energy".

Or it could be that they're just making this **** up as they go and there were just some handy dots to connect. Which is totally unlike anything Joss would ever produce.

Wasn't Malekeith's plan to return the Nine Realms to "Darkness" or whatever the vague portentious stuff was? There's a case for it to be the Power gem, definitely. Though I think Reality makes a bit more sense.

Or, as you say, they could all just be their own new and unique wacky artifacts

But yeah, anyway. Warriors Three. That was weird. "Yeah, mate, appreciate your service and all, but you can just stay on this world because apparently it's your home or something despite that not really tracking. Because there's not room in the script or the actor couldn't be bothered or something, but at least it means you'll be in shot so we'll recognise this as one of the nine realms during the big fight scene later on."

Also, Malekeith not realising Portman was an illusion was odd. Being as he seemed to know she'd got the Aether from being able to sense it, but he couldn't sense that it wasn't actually her. Weirdy.

I finally saw this.

This is the perfect movie. We begin with the opening of Lord of the Rings, move to a Star Wars fighter sequence, end with cheesy Whovian aliens running around London chasing the young, hip, hot companions, and insert lots of quasi-Shakespearian grandstanding.

Perfect movie.

This just opened in Japan last last week. I'm torn. I can go and watch it in all its cinematic glory...or I can wait a few weeks and pick up the 3D Blue Ray and get the sure-to-be-awesome new Mandarin short.

On a Thor-related topic, I'm glad Sif gets more screen-time even if it's not in the movies. I still feel she's wasted and should have bigger role.

Bit the bullet and went to see this. It was fun. Not as many "wait, what?" moments as in Iron Man 2. Probably the funniest Stan Lee cameo, imo. The "other" cameo was ****ing, fall-out-of-my-seat-laughing, awesome. Did I miss something with Selvig, though? When did he loose his marbles?

I'd heard that the first after credits scene was a major tonal shift from the film. But, I still wasn't prepared for just how out of place it looked.

He wasn't quite himself yet after Loki mindcontrolled him for the majority of The Avengers.
