RiP: Irony

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

A quick and dirty education if ever there was one.

Oliver North would show his military uniform more respect by pissing on it than he does testifying in it.

Republicans have a cartoonish view of the military

I still don't know what the supposed Benghazi scandal is. At first it seemed it was about whether President Obama called it terrorism. Then it morphed into some sort of big cover up about talking points. Now it's somehow about why we didn't have a Hollywood/Video Game-esque military rescue of everyone. The American Military has awe-inspiring levels of flexibility, speed, and firepower, but c'mon, we don't have people sitting in helicopters ready to go at any moment for any problem. That's insane.

Was security below optimum levels? Yes. Because House Republicans cut State Dept funding for Consulate Protection! Funding Cuts

House Republicans really are something else.

I've met him. He's a genuinely awesome human being. Wherever he is, I wish him nothing but the best.

Out of curiosity, is there a U.K. equivalent to U.S. House of Representative Republicans? I'd like to think that even on their worst day, Cameron's Conservatives have nothing on Boehner and Cantor.
