He's still better casting for a Philip K. Dick character (vulnerable, fallible, generally neurotic) than Arnie though.
Still not very good though.

I wish it reflected the times more, ie Robotcop should be a predator drone that checks your papers.

Robocop is pretty much my fav movie of all time.
Since ive been about 10 (i saw it in the US two years before it hit the UK) I have been able to quote the film line for line - takes about 90 sheets of A4 to write out... suffice to say i love the movie.
The remake will be utter gash, you cannot make a film like Robocop today, its the back end of the 80's a mix of drugs, sex, ultra-ultra-violence and real models, not CGI... its just hit all the right notes and had a script to match.
If you ever get a chance try and watch the directors cut, its not for the squeamish, Murphys death is yukky!

You can watch that on youtube believe it or not.
I am pretty much in the same camp as you, love the film. although I didn't get to see it in America.
My best mate's brother is significantly older than us and "I got it this on pirate lads, have a watch!"
Ah, the end of the 80s / beginning of the 90s...
