Hasbro Sweatshop Controversy Redux

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Hasbro Sweatshop Controversy Redux

Post by Jack Cade » Mon Feb 20, 2012 4:20 pm

I raised this topic again in a thread on the IDW forums on which new classics you've seen/are going to buy, and one poster thinks it's off-topic.

Anyone else followed up with Hasbro as to what the result of their 'immediate investigations' was? Anyone got a reply?

They're "investigating."

Maybe move this to the toy forum, oh moddities?

To be expected over there.

Yeah, last I heard, Hasbro was maintaining a vaneer of concern without admitting any wrongdoing or even the posability thereof.
For now, it seems like IDW wants my money.

Speak for yourself! I've answered one whole email and added four words to a spreadsheet this morning!

Yeah last I heard they had denied the rumours, stating their standards are very high, but they were investigating anyway...

...Probably because this is about the third time they've been chided for their attrocious manufacturing partners.

Besters, might be a good idea to upgrade the forums for some new anti-spammer features, yes?

Anybody else a bit disturbed that a drug called "Neurontin" is now associated with a thread regarding human rights btw...? :eyebrow:

AFAIK we're still on phpBB2, which is quite a way out of date. I was in the process of upgrading it ages back (around 2007, I think) to phpBB3 but my usual bout of tedious crises and personal issues knocked it aside.

The board is also linked, in various ways, throughout the site. I've no idea really if an upgraded version would break potentially old features we're using.

If nobody else wants to look into it, either SD, Rebis or someome else with the TFArchive FTP info is welcome to ping me a link and I'll upgrade the CAPTCHA to ReCAPTCHA or something.
