Prometheus

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I *love* this trailer.

Could this be the film to restore some credibility to the Aliens franchise?

That may be the reason why "Alien" isn't in the name!

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Considering the trailer seems to tip their hand over the whole "Are there any actual Alien aliens in it?" thing Scott's been so shy about I'm going to guess it's a double bluff and none of the buggers proper (the eggs at most) will show up. It'll just be them sitting around the dead space jockey's corpse for two hours before going home bored.

So do we know details about the story? I thought we'd already seen the first hoomin contact with the derelict space liner, so this is retconning it/rebooting it/parallel universe-ing it?

Basically, I think the idea is that the space jockeys engineered both humans and the xenomorphs. Humans find coordinates to the space jockey homeworld in Africa. They go there. They piss off the space jockeys by being greedy, hilarity ensues. The space jockeys punish the humans by using their bio-weapon (the xenomorphs). Not everything goes according to plan for the space jockeys. The events that lead to the space jockey ship in Alien occur.

There's a full plot synopsis here too: http://geektyrant.com/news/2011/11/28/p ... oiler.html

(Naturally, nobody click unless you want the entire movie spoiled :))

The space jockey is one of the most mysterious/cool/weird characters in any movie ever (not bad considering the guy's dead). I hope they don't just answer everything about his backstory and ruin that.
