I just heard something by Nickelback on the radio

They're genuinely going to be one of those bands that just won't ******* go away aren't they?
Can somebody please stop them. Thanks.

This is a job that falls to the Canadians, and I believe you guys have as much pull with them as we do. Here in the US, it's taking all our efforts just to keep the output of Adam Sandler movies to a crawl.

Coldplay just bore me, but I'm surprised to see much hate for Nickleback, their two main (in the UK) hits are decent fun, and Rockstar wins points for both having Eliza Dushku in the video and pissing off the Daily Mail (and other such nutters) who took the lyrics completely seriously and as such thought it's encouraging kids to do loads of drugs.
I don't know, are the rest of their singles/albums completely terrible or is there some factor about the band members themselves that's deeply annoying (other than the lead singer needing a haircut)?
Though of course, they're obviously not as awesome as somebody like the Spice Girls.

Mainly I dislike them for their audacity to release a hit song based on the motif of 'I want to be a rock star'. It's like an author writing a book about how he wants to write books.inflatable dalek wrote:Coldplay just bore me, but I'm surprised to see much hate for Nickleback, their two main (in the UK) hits are decent fun, and Rockstar wins points for both having Eliza Dushku in the video and pissing off the Daily Mail (and other such nutters) who took the lyrics completely seriously and as such thought it's encouraging kids to do loads of drugs.

Self-referential [composite word including 'f*ck']-wittery.
And double that for Pink.

Unfortunately, it appears they now know how to laugh at themselves. I'm not sure how or why, but it appears..as...if....they're learning (duh duh DUH!!)
