It was certainly pretty sweet. Random thoughts:
- I knew that Sophia was going to be trouble from the second she was on screen.
- Zombie Poo!! I thought they couldn't top wearing zombie parts, but I was wrong. REAL wrong.
- My wife was like Tense +10 the whole episode. She was all like, "No! Don't stop the caravan! Don't open that car door!" And I'm like, "This is the Walking Dead. They're not going to jump out at you. This is about the inhumanity of man. Bad things may happen. But here, Zombies are something that's manageable if you're smart about it." And she's like, "No they're not!!"
- Similarly, she was all freaking out about Carl getting shot, and I'm like, "Don't worry, it's just to introduce Herschel's farm."
- Back to the zombie parts, I don't understand how the zombies couldn't smell them when they were all underneath the cars, or even more, when the zombie was in the Winnie with Andrea.
- Zombies in the church is more Romeroesque than anything I've seen from Kirkman.
- Not really sure where they're going with Shane and Andrea. I don't think anyone's going to leave, because then you're just throwing away all that dramatic tension that you've worked so hard to establish. Ultimately, I still think this ends up with Carl shooting Shane in the woods.
- Did you see those helicopters in the season teaser at the end? WTF WAS WITH THAT????

Told a kid to eat a dick tonight when he told me that the entire show was terrible and badly acted.
He reminded me of us reviewing anything pertaining to transformers, only with no rightful bias. He just thinks everything is stupid.

Haven't seen yet. So want to. I'm trying to catch the guy up on some of the comics and the show before Sunday so we can watch the second ep when it's actually aired. Yay for doing things last minute! \o/
Though... All this zombie stuff in one lump go is making me check behind the shower curtain more often than not.

Agree about the little (****) girl. Her mum is pissing me right off. I want her dead. And her kid.
Also Andrea - hope she dies soon, she's well annoying.
The black bloke cutting his arm open - bit daft... both him being thick enough to do it, and also the scene in terms of plausibility.
It reminded me of the first ep, when he dropped the key down the drain... "yeah right" but you forgive it because the show is strong.
Minor gripes, I do heart TWD.
I think Andrew Lincoln is cracking in it. That's another Brit coming into a top US drama and nailing it there... as an American character, which... seems a bit odd, to me anyway.
Yeha. I like Rick. I also like Shane. That's a bromance and a half there.

I really want to know what happened to Merle after he got off the roof. Im assuming they'll bring him back at some point, but im getting impatient.
I also have a hard time believing that black dude didnt die from that massive slice that went all the way down his forearm. Apparently massive blood loss is easily fixed with duct tape.
All in all, im happy with the first couple episodes, should be an interesting season.

Kirkman on the lingering Sophia plotline:
Smells like Tyrese or Michonne to me. Hopefully.Well, we always know what we're doing and have things planned out. It's not a matter of going, "Ah, we don't know what we're doing here so let's just push this off." One thing that's important to remember is that each episode doesn't cover a week. It's not like Sophia's been gone for months or the weeks it's taken us to get the episodes out there. Some of this takes place over a very short span of time. The poor girl has really only been missing for a few days at this point, though it feels like it's been a while. And there's an interesting question there. They still haven't found this girl. How could she still possibly be alive, and what could have happened to her? Who could she have encountered that would have been able to help her stay alive? And would we drag this on so long without some kind of a cool payoff? What will this all lead to? Those are the questions people should be asking themselves. That's the stuff we were most excited about – having this mystery of why they haven't found her yet and why they keep looking for her. That leads to a lot more questions, which keeps people on their toes.
