Every cover I've heard them do was killer. Every time I hear one of their originals I switch to a cover.
Am I not listening to the right album? I want to like them, but it's only because they really nail "Gimme Shelter." I feel musician's guilt.

Guide me, my trannies.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

What Spidey said. Some really good tracks on the first album, second album added a few more slow-paced dreary radio friendly bilge tracks... and that quickly became their default state.
But the radio (and punters) lapped it up, because it's inoffensive (well, unless you like your music to be good) and easy to listen to. A bit like Adele.
Then Dakota came along, which was brilliant, and suddenly the press and radio were like "OH EM GEE, the Stereophonics are good again!" (er, hang on... you never admitted they were **** until now) and bombarded us with other songs off the album. But they weren't good again, it was just a one-off piece of class before they reverted to type.
Sigh.

I listened to the one that had "Have A Nice Day" on it and was thoroughly unimpressed. Good to know. I'm going to just pretend Stereophonics are a fairly good cover band.

After a healthy dose of Sly and the Family Stone and the Staple Singers, I am cured.

It's more like trying to cure AIDS with funk. Which cures everything.
