If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Anybody watch this?
I thought it was ******* good - LA confidential in London is a good way to describe it.
It's on BBC iplayer. If you've not seen it I'd recommend it.

Yeah, I liked it. It wasn't perfect but I wouldn't knock something wedged with so many good actors which kept me guessing, had a weird dreamlike quality, characters you cared about, an original use of violence and where every episode was put together with an amazing attention to detail by an auteur I'd never heard of before. Perhaps he'll go far?
Nice theme tune too.

What an amazing lead villain too.
V for Vendetta was on a day few days ago, I was watching, then suddenly... "Wait, that's ******* gatehouse!"
Stephen Rea is nailed on for the BAFTA isn't he.

I thought Antony Sher as Glickman was pretty amazing too. I read his book when I studied Drama.
Did you ever see State of Play? That was the last time the Beeb tried something like this I think.

Yeah, he was. His chance meeting with his ex associate and Glickman and Gatehouse's face off at his watch shop were brilliant.
Never seen State of Play but it's mentioned in nearly every article that came out promoting Shadow Line when it first premiered in May.
Will be on the look out for it.
