Facebook Adverts "using your name/picture" bla bla

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Check: Account -> Facebook Adverts.

Saw it weeks ago, but thought nothing of it because mine were set to "No one," and that hasn't altered.

However, now that you've brought it back to my attention, I find myself slightly confused by the following:
Please note that this setting only applies to Facebook Adverts which pair advertisers' messages with news about social actions. It does not include any other adverts or commercial content served by Facebook, including Sponsored Stories. It also does not include Facebook promotions, which pair social actions with messages from Facebook. You can learn more about how social adverts, Sponsored Stories and Facebook promotions work in the Help Centre.
Is it saying there's a third 'class' of advert besides 'third-party' and 'social' and that we have no say in whether our info is used in it, or does setting both 'third-party' and 'social' to "No one" cover everything?

As usual with FB its anybody's guess. My best advice is don't upload anything unless you want them to 'own' that content, much like Google.

I believe the adage is "when the customer can't see the product being sold, then the customer is the product."
