The 3-D screen is beautiful. Much nicer than the DS Lite's (obviously). The buttons have a little "click" them, which I enjoy. The DS Lite's buttons were kind of, I don't know, mushy?
The thing weighs a little bit more than the Lite, but it's not heavy.
The 3-D effect is striking. Your eyes adjust to it almost immediately. You can choose how vivid the effect is with a slider. You're going to want to use it, too. Because after a little while at full power, the 3-D effect takes its toll on your eyes.
The included camera is a nice little gimmick. Not great quality, but you can take 3-D pictures of stuff. When I show the thing off to people, that's what I'm going to be using.
Final thoughts: The thing has potential. LOADS of potential. There is just so much that can be done with it. But now, with a grand total of a dozen games available, there's nothing that really showcases it.
Interesting note: This is the second time I've bought a DS console on launch day. I complete forgot until just recently, but I was in line at midnight when the original DS launched in 2005. That wasn't for me, though. It was for somebody on this board.
