SSSSSSPPPPOOOOILLLLLLLERRRRRR CITY!... Actually just rampant speculation based on above spoiler, but eh.
I'm going to vote "blatant TV cop-out" and say he's alive and escaped via the conveniently off-camera-and-not-mentioned-till-now fire escape, but we won't find out until later when he surprises everyone by showing up cradling his bloody stump and tries to kill himdude that left him on the roof.

Or, perhaps he's still on the roof, hiding. Maybe hiding...RIGHT BEHIND YOU!saysadie wrote:SSSSSSPPPPOOOOILLLLLLLERRRRRR CITY!... Actually just rampant speculation based on above spoiler, but eh.

Spoilers!!!
I loved the whole "Bad ass Vato/Really nice protector" when grandma came out to stop the violence.
I thought it was a cheap tradeoff to off the little sister for shock value after the wife beater became a manwich And I have to admit, I was waiting for her to wake up and bite her sister or have a Shaun of the Dead moment and take a bullet to the face.
I dont know if it was bad camera work or what, but in one frame it really looked like Shane had gotten bit. Did anyone else see that?

I did, so I went back and watched it again. It's not him that gets bit. There's a guy with a similar shirt who gets attacked. Then, when **** is backing away, you see a hand behind him, but it turns out to be one of the survivors.Optimus Prime Rib wrote: I dont know if it was bad camera work or what, but in one frame it really looked like **** had gotten bit. Perhaps it's a cheat given Kirkman wrote the episode, but that last one really cinched this series for me as being in the top 5 comic book adaptations every put to any kind of screen. I love how this series is staying true to its roots, adding new twists to keep the comic book reader interested, and copying scenes panel for panel from the comic book all at the same time.
As I mentioned earlier, I've got my wife watching this one with me. After last episode's relatively zombie-freeness, she was finally understanding the whole, "It's not about zombies, it's about the inhumanity of man towards other men in a world that happens to be swarming with zombies" thing behind Walking Dead. Then we've got the Vatos taking care of old people, and she's tearing up. And then finally, when a false sense of security was finally settled into (much like how you were lulled to sleep in the comics), the camp attack happens and this girl next to me is going into conniptions and hiding behind the throw pillows. And to see that feeling, that experience that I had in the comic books translated into an entirely different medium is quite an achievement. It's just a great character drama. And then your characters get eaten by zombies.

So sure, vatos and racists aside, but this could be where TWD really, really veers of the comic book trail. NONE of this CDC, causes for the virus, scientist stuff was in the comic, right? It remains to be seen whether or not they stay for any amount of time or if the situation goes FUBAR and they exit, now with a scientist in tow, but when it came back after the commercial and it was the camera view of some random guy in a basement, my jaw dropped to the floor. And I mean that in a good way.
