Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

We're all laughing now, but I don't think people have really grasped the implications of these elections if the Tea Partiers win in large numbers.

If you're feeling derisive, sure. Tea Party if it's a grassroots movement rooted in fiscal complaints and strict constitutionalism. Teabaggers if you want the Tea Party about as much as you want a sack of nuts in your mouth.Brendocon wrote:My understanding was that the correct nomenclature was "Teabaggers"?Shanti418 wrote:the Tea Partiers
I'm certainly no fan of the Tea Party, but I DO feel sympathy for some of them. Consider: Once upon a time, say 2008, there was a Tea Party growing out of disaffected libertarians and independents that WAS all about government overspending, corruption, and "overreaching" by the government. We can agree or disagree with these points, but they're at least points of debate. In the two years since, however, this movement - which honestly was welcomed by me in the sense of "I'll take ANYTHING that will make Americans less disaffected with politics and will help us to break out of the political duopoly we're trapped in" - has been co-opted from Sarah Palin and the anti-intellectuals on one side and from the Republican Party with its reserves of money and seemingly instrumentalist political ideology. Now, the Tea Party is basically a cosmetic label, under which you'd now find the same "God, Gays, Guns, and Obama" concerns that are ridiculous and divisive.

Don't move to Canada. People here can be just as stupid... the reason this province is so Conservative is because half the people who could change that don't give a **** about politics.
