Why can't I have nice things?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Kindle stepped on.

DS somehow bundled into washing machine.

Within a week.

Ugh.

Not the DS! :(
I guess you'll just have to pre-order a 3DS (or whatever it's called). I know I am!
Can't believe I'm still here.

Was the kindle stepped on because you left it on the floor? There's no way on earth you're the type of person who would leave something as valuable as a kindle lying on the floor ;-)

He is, however, the kind of guy that would jump on the bed.

There's a Kindle application for pretty much anything with a screen. It's kind of awesome.

I know the Kindle is going to go out of date faster than anything and become utterly redundant within a year, if not sooner. But it was a Christmas present from the parents. I'm extremely sentimental. And the DS was a present from my girlfriend, and actually the first and only console I've ever 100% owned (we had a 'family' Megadrive and I share a wii with my flatmates). So that's what I find particularly gutting. I've actually written to a repair shop saying I know the cheapest/only option would be to get a new DS but if it didn't cost too much more to somehow repair my 3-hour-soapy-water-spin-cycle-and-heat-dried one, with its burnt off red paint and one little light still glowing, I would plump for that.

Mike - assuming my repair plans don't come to fruition, I'll probably wait for the 3DS now. Ipods are too small - I'd lose it in a week!
