No, that was Starscreamer. I think I was the one that exposed him. I'm sure he came back briefly under a different handle. This board and the posters meant way to much to him.Karl wrote:Well what I remember is a poster saying he was your brother saying you were dead in a crash, then about 20 minutes later yourself came on saying you were fine.Professor Smooth wrote:I really think you're misremembering that. That was ~10 years ago now. My time flies!

Woo! Vindicated!
May have posted this already. Was anybody here (well, not here, but you get my point) during 9/11/01? That was an interesting day on the board.
This was before the the days where big news stories would pretty much jump out at you from your homepage. If it were to happen now, there'd be a BREAKING NEWS graphic on Yahoo or Google or whatever else your start page is. But back then, Yahoo's news was just a little rectangle in the bottom-right corner of the screen. I remember reading, "World Trade Centers Destroyed, Pentagon on Fire" skimming down to the next one, then doing an actual double take. "Whaaaaaaaa?"
As I recall, my day was split between watching the news on TV and refreshing the news online.
Then my friend, who admittedly has never shown even the slightest hint of empathy, called me. This was seriously what he said. "Hey. It's me. World's ending. I'm gonna go to Toys R Us then get some popcorn chicken. Wanna go?"

Looking this over to avoid work... where is Computron? Did I miss something while I was busy being cancerous?

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

God damn it's been ages. I've grown up a lot since I was last here. Ugh I'm freaking 37 years old!
One of my best memories is Saysadie drawing a picture of Sheba.
Bad memories...people being jerks and going crazy.

I believe the prescribed treatment is to back away from the forums, adopt an alt-id, and return. Always return.

But your art was quite good! It's a shame you gave it up. Don't listen to douche bags.
I've noticed the tendency of some artists to be head-in-ass or batshyte insane on the astral plane with an unhealthy dose of Butthurt Syndrome. I don't pay any attention when that kind starts spewing venomous crap.

Yes! I recall that now. You were onto him from the start, I believe. Well, not at the time of course, nobody believed at the time. But history can be revised/rewritten/ignored. All hail the conquering sidestreaker!sidestreaker wrote:Nope, that was me(K.i.c.k.ba.c.k)...I exposed him and gotten grilled over it by everyone...me being an insensitive bastard and all...wonderfull times.
Ah yes. Good times. It's hard to be an heroic figure rallying against an evergrowing menace when the menace is so Dutch and lovely. And dissipates on its own.I miss the time when the Dutch ruled the board

Oh, it wasn't douchebaggery. I just sorta became disillusioned with the entire arting world in general. The nervous breakdown/lack of inspiration probably helped me edge away from it, tooSheba wrote:

I'm finding myself increasingly drawn to Graffitti art however. It has a fascinating history... I'll probably go the "Not painting up public property" route, though. Which people will argue isn't staying with the "culture" of Graffitti, but I'm going to be 30- that's too old to be running around the city spraypainting buildings and trains.
Tell that to my mate* Banksy!saysadie wrote:I'm finding myself increasingly drawn to Graffitti art however. It has a fascinating history... *not actually my mate, nor have I even knowingly met the guy, despite the apparent geographical propensity for such an occurance.

Everyone in Bristol is Banksy. It's a massive conspiracy. Who left you out?
