Transfans memories

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

We're all old grown up ***** now, we need to do a Transfans conference call instead.

Or a Transfans corporate event where we go and watch something that ordinarily we'd avoid but because its free and there's booze there, we're going to go have a look.

FYI, I've just totally ruined a tube of pringles in under 10 mins.

That's the kind of power eating that will make me feel like **** tomorrow.

Dude. Everyone knows you cannot eat Pringles without Unicron-like consumption of the whole container.

It's impossible.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I am liking this one. I will even have Yaya to stay sober with me... until he drives me to drink by talking about how "Costa still has promise!"

Guess you all 'said' it for 'me' then.

Maybe I should tear myself from Veetle and get to finishing some of that.

Wasn't that a deliberate round of fan submissions though? Hell, we had one done entirely in audio, can't get more self-insertion that doing it all in your own voice. :D

There was but that's not what I was on about.

Try more along the lines of "I was a member back before any of you were, but I haven't been on here since before any of you were, make me an admin now, I can't always get to sleep at night, here's a Dilfirst I made by erasing the Dilbert characters and inserting Bayverse-style drawings before there's even any thought of a Bayverse, how dare you have a go at me for 'coming in here and throwing my weight around,' you all owe me, I'm telling Omega."

Or something like that.

I keep meening to write my top memories, but I fear I would leave somthing improtant out... oh sod it!

Well, I found this place by some luck, A guy who sold TF comics online pointed me in this direction.

I first had the Galvatron name (or somthing close), and came to the boards looking for an answer to 'how did it all end'
. My G1 comic collection stopped at about issue 320 or somthing, so it was great to read the scans.

Shortly after I fell upon the boards, talking mainly about Time Wars - its probably the artwork and the scale of TW that still makes me love it today, I think I fill in the blanks... I later realised that Target 2006 was where it was at...

And so, I changed my name to Impactor...and then lost my password, and became Impactor returns... you get the idea.

From those early days I have grown up like the rest of you, I had and lost a company, went to Uni, got a degree, drunk to much, done to many drugs, talked utter crap on here with many people. got a good job, and become a father... bloody hell!

I havent posted much here in the last few years, I used to love posting here, as you guys know, probably to much, but life has mellowed me and my fingers are to large for my iPhone to write long posts!

I still read everyday as I consider the people on this forum my friends and I care about what happens to them...maybe not TF as much anymore, but oh well!

Highs

Meeting you lot...

BF, Snarl, Rebis, Compy, Karl, MV, Legion, Hound.... who have I left out?...too many, some have come and gone, and come back again but its the people that make this place!
And Snarls use of the english language is beyond funny, I get my Snarl hit from Facebook now so its all good!

Transfest - we made a TF comic!, I still have it and I love it! its bloody ace!

G1 discussion - my best mate asked me once, "dont you lot run out of stuff to talk about?" .... I think we did/ i did at somepoint. the new stuff has never worked for me, it lacks soul... anyhows I still love to talk G1, and I love how this forum is very G1 centric.

The battle royal - yeah Galvy won!

G1 Profiles - we ran these for over a year, every week, and people used to chip in on them somthing cronic, great stuff!

Nuke Zone - ok, I know its not TF but for a year or so we played this funny game day and night, it was ******* brillant! - Wizard!

Artwork / Sigs - I used to love making sig images and new artwork for transfans. allot of the Photoshop work, and 3D stuff has been carried through into my working life. wish I had more time to do some work but I dont!

Arguments, Religious debate etc... - I think the opinions I read here, and grew up with have made me the man I am...

Lows

Arguments, Religious debate etc... - Some of these debates, due to my own imaturity resulted in some stupid posts by myself, and upset other people.. my bad, sorry.

Contribution to the site - Im not great at writting, some guys here are awesome. ive always wished I could do more for the website and it makes me sad to see less and less contribution to this site as we all get older... thats life I guess.

Me and TF - In that last year or so Ive really fallen out of love with TF. Apart from LSoTW, I really dont enjoy the IDW work, and so I have drifted away...

but then again, it only takes Impy to make me smile!

Ive asked myself over the years, will kids ever see somthing as cool as TF again? - That is, a new IP thats as ground breaking as TF was. somthing that will be here 25 years later, somthing so rich and vibrant, so cutting edge and current?

Maybe they do, maybe its Ben 10 alien force (which I enjoy...ahem) or somthing else. perhaps video games like Halo are the TF franchise of today.

Most of you know that I loved video games back in the day, I still enjoy them but rarely play them, I own every console but I dont have the time anymore, it all gos on my little girl!

Funny how we change?

I still love being part of this forum, and love hearing from you all.

Heres to another 10+ years or somthing!

I have spent an unhealthy amount of time on these interwebz for the past almostten years, and most of them have been here and at the Archive.

I don't know which it was, but one of them (along with events in RL) helped me realise that I'm a pretty ******* weird chick, and that that is a-okay.

I've never met anyone from here or there, though. I keep meaning to attempt to rectify, but when I'm ready to go something occurs or interferes, or I think that something occurs or interferes and then I don't do anything.

One of these days I'm just going to say "[composite word including 'f*ck'] it", take out a big fat bank loan and go convention hopping. One of these days.

Hmm... Well, lemme' see. Good ones... Well, finding all of the comic-scans of the UK stuff, and G2. Which I didn't really know existed prior to this. ( even tho some UK stuff had been published in ye' splendid ol' Sweden)

That, and probably the first post I ever made on a message board, asking Cliffjumper if he could repost TF: Alignment for the 57th or so time. Back around when everyone wanted to read it. :)

Good times.

Besters: Please ask Cliffy to come back. He can't stay around Brendy's place exclusively for all eternity, can he? He'll grow all moldy!

Ye' bad stuffs: Uhhh... Getting banned? I suppose it was a learning experience.
Can't think of anything else. Yer' all generally a fairly entertaining or fun lot, even whilst packered, smackered, and toss-p*ssed at something or another. :D

Oh there was the time in limbo, when the site was shut down. I seem to remember another forum being a temporary home for a while.

Highs: All of it. I love this place. This is gonna sound like total ********, but I think I'm a better person because of this place. I was 17 years old when I registered here, and had been living on my own since I was 16, so you guys sort of became my "family".
Transfans has always been filled with people who question things, people who are funny, people that doesn't care if you are black, white, gay, fat, thin, short, tall, etc etc. Good, intelligent people basically, that respects other peoples opinion. And a lot of that has rubbed of on me. So thank you Transfaners. You are awesome.
Can't believe I'm still here.
