anyone alive?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Sorry. Got no more cake. There was a run on and didn't think it'd be this busy.

Have the chicken.

Who's version?

Also: I'll give it a couple notches above ok to really good.

I will give a couple notches above really good to one of the best movies of the past decade.

Wasn't Land of Confusion something like the second video ever played on ITV's The Chart Show?

Stan Bush's The Touch being the first.

And also, the last.

Really? Honestly, it was a good movie, but I'm not sure that it's even Nolan's best work, let alone one of the best movies of the past decade.

Yeah, but you go to remember that in the Yayaverse (or Earth-25012501, if you're using the Marvel numbering system), Avatar is one of the best movies of all time, as well. ;)

Never said Avatar was one of the greatest movies of all time. I said it was a great movie with some of the most groundbreaking special effects of all time that made it a very unique viewing experience. It was revolutionary. In that sense, perhaps it is one of the greatest of all.

But District 9 was better. So was Inception.

Inception is a ******* masterpiece. That's all there is to it. I saw it again, and the number of ways this movie can be interpreted is genius, IMO. The more I think about it, the more I like it, which is very rare these days.

So yeah, Ill say it again. One of the greatest movies of the past decade and Nolan's best film yet. And I might just say it again just to incur a condescending comment by BF about my patronizing stance in the matter. Wait for it....wait for it....

And The Dark Knight is one of the most overrated movies in history. Batman Begins was better.

Having seen avatar again recently I think it's ****. The story is gash, the acting hammy and I think the special effects do nothing.

It was the first 3D film granted but I don't know anyone who is bothered about it, except my dad, it will go down in history as the first major 3D film. Nothing else.

Speaking of **** films, I watched clash of the titans last night, [composite word including 'f*ck'] me is that the worse film ever made. Seriously!!!

I think jaws 3D is better than avatar!

My problem with avatar is a few years from now, when the majority of films are in 3D, avatar will lose it's wonder and be judged solely on it's merits as a film. Which it fails at.

The most fun I had during Avatar was playing Spot The Cliché. Which it's great for.

The pause button comes in handy with that, so you don't fail to spot a cliché while you're spotting the previous one.

My cinema doesn't have a pause button. Is that a Wess Cunry innovation?

I still can't quite decide which 3-D scene is better. The forest scene from Avatar or the scene in Jaw 3 when the shark blows up and it's jaws fly up into your face and remained suspended there for a good five seconds before falling away.

Going to have to go with Jaws. Cause of the realism.

What did Juno do in Inception (besides being all "Oh, Leo, I know your secret, bla bla bla")?
Wasn't she supposed to be an architect? Did she do any actual architecting? I mean, she didn't do **** during the last third of the movie. She was just there, running around. Or was I not paying attention?
