Yeah.
But Jedi were much cooler before Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Matrix, imo. The fights felt less obviously choreographed.
And if you're a stormtrooper, armed with a gun, obviously you try to dogpile the guy with double lightsabres. Mm.

Analysis...overly critical. Sarcasm...unappreciated. Omega....supreme.

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

I quite enjoyed the Force Unleashed - altho gameplay wise it was about 60% fun 40% frustration.
And that bit with the Star Destroyer was frickin ridiculous.
The story was one of the best things about it, altho on the downside Starkiller seemed a far more credible threat to the Empire than whiney old Luke so it undermines the established story a little for me.
Hopefully they will have fixed the controls a bit so it plays a bit more fluidly.

Did anyone ever play Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire back in the days of the N64? I genuinely enjoyed that game, even though it got a bit of a critical pasting.

i... think i did. Was it a third person shooter with a bit of flying stuff?
i don't rememebr disliking it.
I used to be a total sucker for new SW stuff but my passion has dampened since the woeful prequels and th emorphing of Anakin Skywalker from a tragic fallen hero to the tw@t who killed Samuel L Jackson - something that was done better by a CGI shark in nother, arguably better movie.
Despite it's flaws The Force Unleashed actually rekindled my SW love a bit.
(please don't use this post as a spur to start banging on about Clone Wars JaJa!)

Never played it but was it, in any way, shape or form, related to the novel of the same name?Jack Cade wrote:Did anyone ever play Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire back in the days of the N64? I genuinely enjoyed that game, even though it got a bit of a critical pasting.
Err, wasn't it Palpatine who killed Mace Windu, not Skywalker? All Skywalker did was prevent Windu from killing Palpatine, then Palpatine had a bit of a chuckle and threw him through the window into oncoming traffic. Didn't he?Best First wrote:I used to be a total sucker for new SW stuff but my passion has dampened since the woeful prequels and th emorphing of Anakin Skywalker from a tragic fallen hero to the tw@t who killed Samuel L Jackson - something that was done better by a CGI shark in nother, arguably better movie.
Actually, I think it was the script and dialogue that killed all of them.Rebis wrote: Err, wasn't it Palpatine who killed Mace Windu, not Skywalker? I have to admit I gave it a pasting when I first watched it, but series 2 has been quite amazing, and I really enjoy it now!Yaya wrote:Why does nobody else watch the Clone Wars cartoon but me!!?????? It's quality.
Sigh. Gonna have to find that old thread and reply to myself again.
Has everyone watched the old republic trailer now... hmm, you only have yourself to blame!?
Not to mention the game is looking f'ing brillant!

Ah, but Anakin prevented Windypoo from killing Palpy therefore essentially leading to his death. Don't be so literal doggy.Rebis wrote:Never played it but was it, in any way, shape or form, related to the novel of the same name?Jack Cade wrote:Did anyone ever play Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire back in the days of the N64? You know which one I beat like a redheaded stepchild? Rogue Squadron. Totally good stuff. Totally difficult, too. I never got much into the second and third ones, unfortunately.Jack Cade wrote:Did anyone ever play Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire back in the days of the N64? Unless Obi-Wan chopped Qui-Gon's arm off when Qui-Gon was about to go Biblical on Darth Maul's ass it clearly isn't.Rebis wrote:Damnit! Jesus i can't believe some of the geek sh1t i write sometimes.
Clearly, if Obi-Wan had got his ass in gear, he wouldn't have gotten himself stuck behind a force field and left old man Qui-Gon to face Darth Maul alone.Best First wrote:Unless Obi-Wan chopped Qui-Gon's arm off when Qui-Gon was about to go Biblical on Darth Maul's ass it clearly isn't.Rebis wrote:Damnit! I mean, Come on. If the Neimoidians outfitted their teasmades with automatic weapons, the Jedi would never have got onto the surface of Naboo. And why didn't the gunner shoot the droids' escape pod while it was still in orbit over Tatooine, as this could easily have been explained away as a spot of target practice.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here - Obi-Wan clearly wanted to help Quigon, whereas Spanakin made a concious decision to lop Windu's arm off - with only one likley outcome. They are hardly comparable in tems of intent, which given i was talking about the impact on my perception of a character is more than likley what is relevant.Rebis wrote:Clearly, if Obi-Wan had got his ass in gear, he wouldn't have gotten himself stuck behind a force field and left old man Qui-Gon to face Darth Maul alone.Best First wrote:Unless Obi-Wan chopped Qui-Gon's arm off when Qui-Gon was about to go Biblical on Darth Maul's ass it clearly isn't.Rebis wrote: Damnit! And on the second point - budget cuts.

Not with anything like the gravity of two persons who both eat, drink and breathe Star Wars would. I hope.bumblemusprime wrote:Are you arguing over plotholes in the F*cktom Menace?
Although, I would still like to know if the Shadows of the Empire game was in any way, shape or form related to the novel of the same name.

Yes it was - it was part of what Lucasfilm seem to refer to as a 'Multimedia Project' - i.e lets do a game anna book anna comic anna toyline. Same as The Force Unleashed.
The Shadows game is coming back to me now - was there a bit on a train in a junkyard with IG88?
And Price Xizor! He was a right lizardy toolbag and no mistake.
