Doctor New

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I've had Planet of Fire on DVD for a whole day and haven't just had the bikini bit on a loop. I deserve an award for that.

Interestingly the flashback montage didn't include the three 80's Doctors. There seem to be three main theories about this:

The Moff and/or Roberts hates the JNT era with a fiery vengeance and are in denile about it (I find that unlikely, Moff is good friend's with Davison- resulting in the 5th and 11th Doctor's having tea together at his house- and Roberts' is repeatedly saying how ******* awesome McCoy is).

It's part of the story arc, three of the Doctor's have been wiped out from hsi timeline by the crack.

It's a combination of both, the crack wiped them out due to JNT hatred.

Personally, I suspect just an editing choice. Nice to see that in two years McGann has now appeared in three times as many episodes as when he was the main Doctor though.

All genuinely Davison as well, he's exceptionally proud to this day that they filmed him in freakishly good form (well, either that or the extras were told not to stop him hitting the wicket thing first time).

See forget James Corden - we should reserve our ire for these bastards who are great at both acting and sport. Greedy swines.

Nearly as good as the Season 1 finale, but not quite.

Matt Smith was really, really good in some of his scenes.

Loved the timey wimey stuff.

I heard a rumour that Moffat will only stay on for one more season. Hope it's not true.

This weeks As It Occurs To Me has what very probably the first (and no doubt only) comedy sketch about Rory Off Doctor Who:

I keep meaning to check out the DVD's of his previous shows, I've been hugely enjoying both his podcasts pretty much since they started. Though nothing's topped the Planet of the Apes sketch from This Mourning... with the monkeys singing Duran Duran. Though the Blues Brothers 2000 (Candy, Ackroyd and the kid pissing on the dead one grave) came close.

Some are better than others, and they don't always capture the magic of the live show - i loved Someone Like's Yoghurt when i saw it at the Battersea Arts Centre but the DVD didn't get me the same way.

Hitler Moustache was epic tho so when that comes out i suggest giving it a go.

TMWRNJ was ace.

Altho possibly not as ace as Fist of Fun.
