Iron Man 2 (spoilers?)

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

OMG HOW COULD YOU. DAMMIT!

It comes out here on my birthday. It's a toss-up as to whether or not I'll be able to go and see it on that day, but I hope we do because I think that'd make a nice present. :swirly:

As will my viewing- I just won some advance screening tickets, so I'll get to see it Wednesday night and won't have to put up with the moviegoing masses on Friday evening. :)

I personally found it a little meh, it was good but almost felt like a superhero-movie parody. Not one actor was seemingly taking their character seriously, especially Tony Stark and Hammer seemed to be like parodies of themselves.

Also, lot of not-too-cleverly-hidden Avengers nods. Stay through the credits, there is one in the end as well.

Could have been shorter/more streamlined. Took a while to get going. Got quite annoyed by the volume of the music vs the dialogue at times.

Other than that, enjoyable enough. Loved the bit with the shield (not the organisation) and I really really really want my own Scarlett Johansson. More so than normal.

Yup.

Writing anything more than the above would be a waste of words.

And i could never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever be accused of that.

Sprunkle - its out earlier in Europe than in the US for some reason. Possibly because we are awesomer.

Liked a lot Tony Stark portrayal, specially that he is not someone who was "completely changed" because of his new powers (he still parties like a bastard) and doesnt feel it like a burden but something he enjoys (unlike most all other heroes).

What is it with superhero sequels? I almost always prefer them. Probably because you don't have to wait an hour for the guy in tights to show up.

Really love the sparks between Tony and Pepper. Those scenes had real pizazz.

Sam Rockwell was hilarious, probably stole the show.

Not that taken with Don Cheadle as Rhodes. And thought he was out of order nicking the suit.

Pretty amazed that this Avengers crossover stuff is working so far. Shame the Hulk movie wasn't exactly earth shattering tho.

I really enjoyed it, although Tony Stark himself is far better than any of the Iron Man scenes...

I also thought the end of was a bit of an anticlimax.

Absolutely. That was the Guillermo Del Toro one right? And the chap from Bros? And Ron Perlman? And the vamps with the big gross mandible things? Tasty.

I suppose you prefer The Crow: City of Angels to the original, too. Rise of the Silver Surfer? Son of the Mask? Punisher War Zone? TMNT 2?

Hellboy II was rubbish, for the record. But then stick Ron Perlman and one of Bros in a Del Toro film and you don't care do you, you Bluetones hating freak.

I did say 'mostly'. In any case most of these originals were either not superhero movies or were just rubbish films anyway. Fact. Ish.

I actually preferred Blade II myself.

Hellboy 2 and Blade 2 were both superior to their respective prequels, and both excellent action movies to boot!

Ironman 2 fell short of the first movie, but by no means was it as rubbish as Transformers 2.
