Joss Whedon directing the Avengers

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Dear God of Nerds, let this be more than a rumor.

Joss Whedon has a very small-looking face. :o It's like his head is oversized, or his face is undersized.

That would be a very entertaining movie, though. Like, the cherry-on-top good.

Completely random I know, but - Neil Patrick Harris as Hawkeye. Might work.

Hank Pym surely?

Plus then he can also be the voice of Ultron.

Anyway, i agree with your praying to the only god worth his salt.

Who should be the bad guy? Loki? Doom? Kang? My mum?

From the end of The Incredible Hulk, I'd just assumed it'd be about the group learning to work together in order to hunt down the Hulk.

Speaking from experience, Best First's mum would whip them all.

SNAP.

I like a Hulk as being manipulated by Loki scenario. Whedon would have great fun with Loki, for whom I vote Fillion.

TBH, I hadn't actually thought about just lifting the plot from a comic book from half a century ago. ;)

It launched a 40+ year series, son. I think we're good.

Or Hawkeye.

Or Bruce Banner.

Or Wolverine.

I have a dream that Marvel launches an X-Men TV series helmed by Whedon.

Fillion is Wolverine.

Gina Torres is Storm, of course.

Fill in the rest as you like.

I say they go old school with it and have Vision be the bad guy, who ultimately become a member.

Sets up Ultros and/or Dr. Doom for the 2nd movie.

Doc Doom is probably impossible since those darn Fox are still chomping at the bits of the FF franchise.

I think a classic would be nice, Hulk and Loki. :) And in the end the Hulk is reformed and joins the team. Or rather, Bruce Banner does...

Strangely enough... That original idea was probably used in Ultimates 1 and 2 wasn't it? But modified and with some more depth and such.

And Whedon was confirmed to be a lock recently, yes?

He was so good with Astonishing and Firefly that he had to get some of his sh*tty stuff out on Dollhouse.

Now that he's purged, we can have our old Joss back.

he was sublime on Astonishing.

He was utter c0ck on Runaways tho.

Season 8 has been middling to good for me. Too long mainly. Should have been 20-30 issues at most.

Dollhouse (only done Season 1) was quite good i thought, altho a bit crushed by pressure to be episodic.

Anyway - to continue;

Jewel Staite as Rogue!

Alan Tudyk as Sean Cassidy!

Mr Baldwin as Sabretooth!

Nicholas Brendan as Iceman!

Charisma Capenter as Emma Frosohmygoduuuurrgggh.

Mmm. As it hits the final stretch and the drarmar is cranked up and the revelations abound I just find myself gripped by a fatigued sense of meh.

Which is wrong.
Dollhouse (only done Season 1) was quite good i thought, altho a bit crushed by pressure to be episodic.
The back end of season 2 is awesome. Though suffers from "blatantly two more seasons of plot rammed into seven episodes"ness. Overtwisty. But brilliant. Anybody who thinks differently is flat out wrong.
Charisma Capenter as Emma Frosohmygoduuuurrgggh.
... sorry, I've completely forgotten what I was going to say next.

I'm thankful it doesn't suffer from "there were supposed to be two more seasons of plot so we are left hanging"ness. :o

I think if Whedon had pushed both running time and budget a little more on Serenity we would feel more fulfilled. There is something to be said for just feeling the details of the world.
