The Anger!!!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The Anger!!!

Post by bumblemusprime » Tue Feb 23, 2010 1:57 pm

I don't know why I start bands. I just scheduled a gig and recording for a weekend in March based on what my drummer had previously told me was good for him.

Now I find out he's gone all that weekend.

And we were going to record "The Banana Song."

**** me.

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Is that anything like 'Bananaphone'? And, if so, do you need a pianist?

Do you need a talentless clown who sticks his thumb in his ears and goes "plllllbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb!"?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

They went off the boil after their second LP, though.

Off The Boil, on the other hand, continue to churn out corkers even today.

You must be kidding - their first single was ok, but making their third Album entirely about standing beneath falling advertising hoardings was commercial suicide.

On that note i think The Falling Hoarding are one to watch out for.

Quite right. It was Commercial Suicide whose third album was about standing beneath falling advertising hoardings, not Off The Boil.

Not that lack of record sales is any reflection on quality.

Speaking of whom, Reflection On Quality are far better than The Falling Hoarding, who are trite and derivitive.

Lack Of Record Sales are better than them all, tho. As are Trite And Derivitive, but only by a small margin.

But I think I'm getting slightly off-topic. Although I'm definitely getting Slightly Off-Topic's debut single that will be out this time next month. The anticipation is killing me.

No, The Anticipation is by Coldplay.

Killing Me haven't released anything in years. Though I can see how you'd mistake the two.

On a lighter note, here are some drummer jokes:

What do you call a ****wit who hangs around with musicians?
A drummer

What's the difference between a drum machine and a drummer?
About a minute and a half by the end of the song
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Yeah, they're all right. Technically, you could say they're part of the old guard, but none of their members seem to last more than two albums.

The Old Guard, on the other hand, have had the same line-up since they formed back in high school. They just change their name a lot.

The Corkers had a good run, though their seventh album taking us through the circles of the Kabbalah with the metaphor of a layer cake--that was a bit much.

I'm half-laughing, half crying at how true this is.

How do you park your band van in the handicapped spot?

Put the drumstick on the dashboard.

Actually my drummer is a good bloke, and semi-reliable. More importantly, he is a drummer and not another ****wit who plays three chords and thinks he can be in a band.

The irony of course being that The Three Chord ****wit Trio are all highly accomplished musicians. Certainly if their latest single There's Something Sinister About Innocent Smoothies is anything to go by.

Highly Accomplished Musicians were one joke taken way too far. I was bored of them about thirty seconds into I've Got a Bottom.

What was your opinion of their debut single The Bannination, again?

The Bottom Gotters sued them over libel on that record.
