Best. Comeback. Ever.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Best. Comeback. Ever.

Post by Metal Vendetta » Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:38 am

This weekend, I was writing up an article on Zenag from Distant Thunder! for the Transformers Wiki when my friend stopped by to pick up some stuff that he left at my house. When he found out what I was doing, he snorted and said: "Well, if the people who write that sort of thing put the same effort into making the world a better place, then we could solve the world's problems."

I said, "You know how I've been working 14-hour days for the past six months helping organise the inaugural One Young World summit? That's happening on Monday. I do this to relax."

I'm backstage at the ExCeL Centre now. So far I've met Desmond Tutu, Muhammad Yunus, Clarence Seedorf, Bob Geldof, Boris Johnson and Kofi Annan. It's been singularly the most bizarre and awesome week of my life so far, and as you can appreciate, it's up against some pretty stiff competition.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I got the editor of New Humanist, my favourite magazine for atheists, involved in the Interfaith Dialogue sessions (we should be represented, after all) and he was utterly thrilled to be sharing a platform with Seedorf :D

Mohammed Yunus actually came and spoke for the school of education where I used to work. Very smart, very neat guy. I wasn't there at the time but I read his guest editorial.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Kofi Annan is the only one with a beard (from what photos I've seen), but at least none of them are chuggers.

Awesomes.

If you could arrange a comedy accident for Johnson that'd be neato. Not that I give a flip what Londerners have to put up with but I can't stand the idea he can get away with being a **** by putting on a lovable burke persona.
