So, is it really all that?
Do you have one?
Do you want one? If so: why?
I'm thinking about getting one - mainly because I'll be able to use Spotify on the bus and ****.

I use Spotify - the free version (which means I have to listen to a commercial or two every twenty minutes).Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:untill u can find me a way to download any tune in the world, from my phone, instantly, for 75p, then im a sucker...
The Premium version (without the commercials) will cost you 9 euros/month.
And the music is streamed, not downloaded (you can download songs temporarily so you can listen to 'em while you're on the tube, or other similiar places).
Sure, you can't find Metallica on Spotify - but [composite word including 'f*ck'] Lars Ulrich and his friends.
And Spotify is available for the Iphone, Android phones and a bunch of other models.
I've never actually tried Itunes - but I'm super happy with Spotify. I can listen to (almost) any track, whenever I want, without having to pay for it.
And its library is growing as we speak.
Edit: Karl, you've been away for too long You're spreading ""'s all over the place!

We get blackberry storms from work, sure they do the same thing as the iPhone, but my iPhone just does everything so easily...
Horses for course I know but I am yet to use somthing like an iPhone.
I like having iTunes on the move, it allows me to add to my music collection, especially when im at work.

That would require a phone more epic than the iPhone and BlackBerry combined.Rebis wrote:I have a fairly modest CD & audio cassette collection.
The vinyls aren't strictly mine, but I don't currently have anything to play them on so it's moot, anyway.
Doubly so if it also played vinyl.
I like to think Jesus would have a phone like that.

During january I listened to 118 different songs.
118 songs/month, for £9.9/month.
If my math is correct that's ~£0,09/song.
If I spent £9,9 on Itunes that would only get me ~13 tracks.
Itunes can suck it
Edit: Of course those 118 tracks aren't all new... so it doesn't really add up. But I'm pretty sure I listen to at least 40 new tracks every month.

The iPhone, indeed, is the coolest piece of technology since time began.
Truth be told, I have never bought a single track on iTunes. But that is because I seldomly listen to music. I use my iPhone as a phone (sometimes), a calendar, as an e-mail client, for surfing the web, for checking Twitter, Yammer and Facebook, for checking train departure times and delays, and for playing games. Lots of games.
Looking forward to the iPad too by the way!

I'm thinking of the iPhone... well, I would if it was on the network that all of my family seem to be using. Till things change it's the Storm for me... I find having lag on my phone to be extremely ******* annoying, but do like the fact that I have the internet and youtube during bored times on the train/bus/waiting room/etc.
I'm on my second Storm, too. Not sure what happened to the first, all I know is that the screen died on me. Thank goodness for warranty programs.

I'm resisting until the last...I tried iTunes and absolutely hated it, it's a nasty, intrusive virus-like piece of software, or at least it is on my Windows laptop. Ditto for Quicktime, so I purged my machine of anything Apple-related and I'm much happier for it. I can still download all the music I'd ever want for free (through bitTorrent) and bluetooth it to my Nokia and I can live without the iFart app, thanks very much.
No-one's ever managed to convince me that I need an iPhone - right now I pay £10 a month for a phone that does calls, texts, email and internet, why on earth would I want to pay £50 a month for a slightly bigger phone that gives me the option to download a bunch of stupid gimmicks as well?

No one needs all the fancy bells and whistles. I would downgrade my Storm if I didn't like internetting on the go so much as I don't use half of the things on it/apps I can get for it.
You know what I find annoying? Every iPhone user (except for one, and I'm sad I don't work with her anymore) I've come across has felt the need to show me their phone. I'm left to pretend to be impressed because I don't want to be a dick when really, it looks pretty much like any other iPhone I've ever seen.
There are some apps that seem useful. And an unlocked one looks like it might be fun to play with. Beyond that, I'm not really too fussed about it.
