Fantastic Mr. Fox

Saw this tonight.
Have to say, it's one of the funniest movies I've seen in years. I laughed out loud many times and I never find myself doing that. Was quite embarassing, as there was only one other joe in the back who found it as funny as I did.
Definitely a certain kind of humor (or should I say humour for you Brits) here.
Highly recommend it. Give it an "A".

"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I have to totally agree with you. As I work in the box office I know it hasn't been selling well at our theater aside from the few hipster Wes Anderson fans and the parents who just go OH! Animation! This MUST be a kids movie! But here on this side of the pond, especially here in the south there's not a whole lot of appreciation for culture. The past couple of [excellent] foreign movies we have gotten also failed to sell well. When I went to see Pan's Labyrinth [El Labrinto del Fauno] I was alone in the theater and the French film, Persepolis, didn't have anyone other than me, a friend, and a lady who came to see it by herself. Even worse Cars beat it out in the Academy for Best Animated feature. Anyway, back to Fantastic Mr. Fox, I planned on seeing it AGAIN but never got around to it, unfortunately. It's very clever and verbose, I love the cast, and have even started replacing my curse words with "Cuss" in verbal out loud conversation. Awesome film.
As was I. It was such a well done flick, I remember feeling sad that del Toro wasn't going to get the accolades he deserved for that feature. Moreover, that general was one of the best played villians I have ever seen and felt he deserved an Oscar for that. Really, when I think "evil" in movies, I think that general.Jazz to moon base 2 wrote: When I went to see Pan's Labyrinth [El Labrinto del Fauno] I was alone in the theater .
Ah, but I did, my friend. And loved it just as much the second time. Really, it's just one of those movies that makes you smile from start to finish.Anyway, back to Fantastic Mr. Fox, I planned on seeing it AGAIN but never got around to it, unfortunately.
You too! I use it all the time now. In fact, I've found myself stealing many lines from that flick. Like when I eat something I like, I have to say "like gowwwld".and have even started replacing my curse words with "Cuss" in verbal out loud conversation.
Just a very fun movie.

The other day I used Mr. Fox's trademark idly when walking by myself, you know the "Whistle, *click click* " but then I realized there was a girl walking in front of me.....Yaya wrote:

I have read about the movie, but sadly just like with '9', they are not gonna release this in Hungary, so I'll have to wait for a cam version. From what I read about it, it's great.

9 was disappointing if you ask me. Not enough action, too much boring whatnot, two dimensional characters, and a goofy ending. This sucks because I was turbo excited and went to see it opening night. Gotta hand it to the marketing team here, they made it look like it was gonna be a great picture, but I guess that I just like Coheed and Cambria so much that the inclusion of their music just made me rush out and buy a ticket. I advise anyone who hasn't seen it to give it a rent, but don't get your hopes up.

You should all read the book instead. George Clooney is only about half as cool as the character needs to be.
