Who buys this stuff

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Id imagine its the same people who buy National Inquire-esque magazines for their journalistic quality.

Isn't it the sort of thing that occurs to people in the creative industry when they realise they have loads of unused material lying about (in this case photos, I'm guessing) and a zillion untold anecdotes and they think, "Hey! People totally buy our magazine, ergo they must have a deep affection for us, so they'll love to see all this cutting room floor stuff."

I mean, it's just an extension of the craze for DVD extras, isn't it?

I can't remember if it's Empire or the other one that's really **** - the one that gave Phantom Menace five stars, then, a year later gave Attack of the Clones five stars, calling it 'the anti-Phantom Menace'. And recently gave the fourth Indiana Jones movie five stars.

Not so much film journalism as a sort of charity for the victims of aggressive marketing campaigns.

We've got copies at work, it basically full of run downs on what the consider the most important films/actors/directors during the magazine's life with a few odds and sods on what it's been like to work on the mag.
