Heroes Season 04

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Heroes Season 04

Post by BB Shockwave » Mon Sep 28, 2009 10:59 am

First two episodes just aired.

Frankly at first I was like, "who cares anymore?" but... it was pretty good. They killed off Danko (finally...) and the whole stuff concentrates on the old S1 cast strongly again. Nathan starts discovering "his" (Sylar's) powers, Claire goes to college and tries to live a normal life, Noah tries to re-build the company, Hiro and Ando start a "Hire a Hero!" firm (with comical AND interesting results), Peter works as a Paramedic, trying to save lives while using his powers secretly. Oh and Sylar's mind is apparently trapped inside Matt's mind, trying to get back into his body.

Not too keen on the new group of villains, these Carnival Freaks seem pretty much as if they'd have been ripped off from a Bradbury novel. But unlike for the most part of Season 3, I'm actually interested to see the next episode. Well, hope this style stays for good.

I watch it cause it's there, not because I want to.

Watched Flashforward. Wasn't impressed. Characters all lack charm, some are downright annoying.

Lost can't get here soon enough.

Okay, that just confused the hell out of me.

Hadn't really registered that it's September, thus new tv season.

Everything I watch starts in the new year. Namely Lost and Dollhouse. Oh, and Caprica, presumably.

Dollhouse season 2 has started (in the US).
Can't believe I'm still here.

I thought FlashForward had promise.

Plus Jack Davenport.

Last night's episode of Heroes wasn't bad. Enjoyed the whole Cylar/Parkman scenario, think it has promise.

I agree with Besters about FF having promise. I won't disagree about Jack Davenport, either. I like Jack.

Er yeah. So it has. I was sure I read it'd be back in the new year, so never bothered checking. God I suck.

Thanks Obster.

And guest stars to include Denisof and Glau, in addition to the I-already-knew-about Bamber and Hogan. Get in!

And now it's done anyway, so while waiting for the rest of the episodes, you can see Castle, my new favourite thing.

You all probably should see it.

Seriously.

And that's just a drop in the ocean of coolness. :o

Castle is awesome. I watched the first two episodes and will get it on DVD after Christmas.

It's like somebody said "we've got this cool Moonlighting/Cop/Detective thing but we can't quite get it to work, what do we do?"

And somebody else just said "Fillion."

And it was gold.

I've only seen it available as R1 so far. :(

I think R4 might be out too, but that probably doesn't help much either of us. :o

I have R1 version, becuase back then I assumed R2 won't be out for some time, what with Castle not airing in UK.

On a related matter, is there a reason why Amazon UK seem to have R2 Veronica Mars only in those half-season sets and even those are available only from other sellers?

I think they said on extras that Fillion was always the first choice. Good choice, that. :)

I really like Stana Katic, too, they're great together. It's weird that she's been around for few years, but only after Castle I started noticing that it's actually her, like in Alias, Heroes (I'm on-topic! Well, close enough), Quantum of Solace...

I didn't know Ver Mars was even on R2 yet... I keep meaning to check though, as it recently cropped up on one of our nearly-proper channels for a proper run (previously only aired tucked away on one that nobody's heard of).

Am holding out for a Complete Series in some format, as I flogged my R1 releases last year. Hopefully any future collection will have some actual extras.

Stana's lovely in Castle. But I did actively have to go and find her in other stuff to believe she was in it.

... ooh, she's been in 24 too.

I love that what was ostensibly a thread about Heroes has turned into an evolving discussion about actual watchable telly.

My sentiments too.
Enjoying it much more than S3 so far.
