I have a new-to-me mic, and no idea how to set it up...Halp?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Okay, so the b/f gave me one of his mics [Older mic, Koss M\20... can't really find any info on it] , and I have no idea how to set it up or what program would be a good one to use it with. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

You should just be able to plug the mic into your computer and it'll work from the go...if you're running Windoze, go to the Control Panel amd under Sounds and Audio Devices there should be a section called Voice. There should now be an option for external mic and the option to test the hardware. Beyond that, try Windows Sound Recorder (I think it's called) to test out recording.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!
