"Is he telling the truth?"
"Probably not."
What was that boat made of? Because I was fully expecting that to vanish when they timeshifted the other week.

It's still a guess, but it works as a theory right? And, as per the cited example, it's hardly an unprecedented notion.Rebis wrote:So, you're saying the time travel mechanism works roughly the same way as it does in the Terminator saga, and only things that are organic, in direct contact with organics, or appear as organic, can go time travelling?

Looks like we're gonna have to wait to find out about the "metal mystery." Right now, we don't even know if the plane crashed or if the people inside were teleported out.
Teleportation. Is that a new one?
I loved Hugo in the ep.
"I bought those seats. All 78 of them."
"Why?"
"Because...you know what? It doesn't matter."
Awesome.

So it's a probability that Ben went to kill Penny when he talked about "unfinished buisness", but do we think he also killed Sayid's bride?

Hey, I hope Penny's alive too, bro. But why would Desmond go to the island again if it's not finished with him? Where did Ben go when he said that, and why is Sayid in custody coincidentally on the same plane as everyone else?
Also, in conjunction with this past week's ep, it's seeming more and more that Ben is the "bad guy" and that Widmore might have more nuanced motivations than Ben's "But I still wanna be the leader of the Others!" At this point, it's even plausible to me that Widmore hates Desmond because he knows his role and doesn't want Penny involved.
Speaking of Penny, was she born on the island?
Speaking of Miles, is the Asian Dharma Scientist his father?
Also, whether it's killing yourself or moving the island, John Locke is a puss who gets Ben to do everything.

Someone explain to me how a show this good can just keep getting better and better and better.....
Seriously, in the realm of sci-fi/fiction writing, I really think those responsible for writing this show are geniuses.
Four seasons in, and it's as exciting, if not moreseo, than the first.

Still though, I doubt the baby is Ben. We HAD Ben's origin episode already. Ben kills his mom during childbrith, his Dad goes to Dharma for work and blames Ben for the death of his wife. Later on (and AFTER this next episode, according to what Emvee spoils), Ben kills everyone in Dharma at the suggestion of Richard Alpert.
But yeah, I was wondering when/if we would see young Ben and his dad since they're at Dharma.
My guess is that the baby will be Sawyer.
Know what's worse than being lost on an island? Being lost in time, apparently.
So are John Locke and the survivors of The Crash II in the 70s as well, or are they in present time since they didn't flash?

Eh, so the baby was Ethan. Who cares except for Juliet, right?
The meatiest parts out of THIS week's ep IMO were:
1. Sun and Ben NOT going back in time. If Ben didn't go back because he's already ON the island in 1977 in kid version, then can we deduce that the 1977 Sun is ALSO on the island, with Miles as a brother and Asian Dharma Guy as a father?
2. Smoke Monsteryness RIGHT before Christian Shepard shows up. Is Christian Shepard part of the Smoke Monster?
3. Who's more unlucky, Mr. "Everytime I try to get out, they pull me back in" Frank LaPedis, or Mrs. "Everytime I try to find some happiness f***in' Kate shows up" Juliet?

Sawyer's the best. Looked like Jack was actually relieved to be, er, relieved of command.Obfleur wrote: Sawyer is the best character on the show!
I like the way he treated Jack.
Ben rocks. "How'd that work out for ya?" He gets the the reward for most resilient mother. How many times has this guy gotten his ass beat? Someone want to count? Seriously, you could make a youtube video with some kickass music just showing him getting the **** kicked out of him.

Sun and Ben not jumping is a toughie - I'm not sure it's because Sun and Ben are already on the island in 1977 since the time-slippers already jumped to time periods where they had duplicates (Locke with the light from the Hatch, Sawyer seeing Claire give birth). Besides, we already know far too much about Mr. Paik and the rest of Sun's family to suggest that she's Pierre Chang's kid. Miles, on the other hand I reckon is a shoe-in for the Changs' baby.
Sayid is going to try and kill little Ben for sure. This is going to be interesting.
Frank Lapidus is awesome.
Oh, and that guy from Mulholland Drive. I love that guy. He's fantastically creepy, in a looks-a-bit-retarded kind of a way.

The idea that she's NOT Mr. Paik's kid IS too much, but the idea that Mr. Paik IS Chang or that he is connected to Dharma somehow is not, IMO.Metal Vendetta wrote:Sun and Ben not jumping is a toughie - I'm not sure it's because Sun and Ben are already on the island in 1977 since the time-slippers already jumped to time periods where they had duplicates (Locke with the light from the Hatch, Sawyer seeing Claire give birth). Oh, I think Paik is far more connected to all this than we've seen - I reckon he's got to be in bed with Widmore.Shanti418 wrote:The idea that she's NOT Mr. Paik's kid IS too much, but the idea that Mr. Paik IS Chang or that he is connected to Dharma somehow is not, IMO.

Wasn't the resolution of the Ben getting shot thing a bit obvious?
Current Ben waking up only "after" Past Ben was out of danger has me thinking about the connections between the two timelines.
The time-travel conversation between Miles and Hurley was superb, even though it was made kind of irrelevant by the end of the episode.
Paraphrase:
"Why wouldn't he remember this when he met Sayid again?"
"Oh, crap! You're right!"
Later:
"Uh...yeah, he's not gonna remember this. And he's gonna be evil. You're cool with that?"

Oh, and all the stuff with Miles was gold too!

So Titus Welliver is the smoke monster and the entire island is just two immortals abiding by the rules of engagement and making wagers about human behaviour?
Stunned it took Miles that long to twig "er, what if we're about to actually cause it?"
Where's young Ben?
My initial thought on what's in the box was "It's John Locke's dead body! No, wait, that was last year." Touché, gods of television, touché.

Seems like it. Surprisingly, I'm kinda cool with that.Brendocon wrote:So Titus Welliver is the smoke monster and the entire island is just two immortals abiding by the rules of engagement and making wagers about human behaviour?
As long as the writing keeps up the level of quality shown thus far, I really don't care what the outcome is.
