Gordon Brown wants to meet Optimus Prime

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I thought it was cute. Much moreso than the Barack Obama/Spider-Man cross-over.

"The Tories immediately slammed the comment.

A spokesman said Mr Brown had 'more in common with the Decepticons' who are the villains in the film."

Ho ho. Truly, politicians are quick-witted.

Somehow I don't think he's gonna light our darkest hour.

Well I'd give 'im me fookin' vote if he had the ol' lad on as an advisor. :o

He is a bit bland your new PM tho, now isn't he? Tony really betrayed his own party's ideals, working so closely with a certain tobacco-chewing, moon-shine drinking, god-fearing, white hat-wearing right-wing mind-f**k texon, but he was a lot more charismatic and interesting.

Always on the telly, even here in the North, and always giving his view on the big things in the world.

This lad tho... him I hardly ever even remember what the fook his name is...!

Not exactly likely to go down as one of the big public figures and political titans of Britain, aye?

Only one to share his name with a Stranglers song, though. Aside from their underrated "William Pitt the younger" b-side, natch.

Also: you're not a cockney.

I was woefully uneducated Mr O'Connelly. Thank ye' for enlightening me heathen soul. 'Tis quite a swish tune, methinks.

(Ok, I have to admit I didn't really think so, after giving it a listen, but I've always wanted to say the above, since I think it's a smashin' saying. The extro effect-thingy they do must have been pretty balls back in the day tho, I suppose.)

It's like he's in his own little imaginary world, talking to imaginary people, in an imagined language.

I think it's time to expand the word censor's vocabulary...
