Rank Your Most Anticipated Movies of 2009

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

From your list:

1. Terminator: Salvation.
I'm really anticipating this one. It's Batman fighting killer machines.

I'll probably go and see these, but I'm not "pumped" or "psyched" or even "amped".
2. Monsters vs. Aliens
3. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
4. Watchmen
5. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I haven't read Watchmen yet though.

Christial Bale will also be in Public Enemies. He'll be joined by Michael Mann (directing) and Johnny Depp.
Bale is with the feds. Depp is a gangsta'.

Killing Pablo is another Bale-movie that looks interesting (I don't know if it'll actually be made or not though).
Can't believe I'm still here.

Hadn't heard of this. Must see.

I can't get really psyched for movies anymore, but I'm looking forward to Watchmen and TF2.

Update:

Maybe I shouldn't count on seeing Watchmen in 2009. http://www.superherohype.com/news/watch ... hp?id=7936

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Watchmen
Star Trek
The Mysterious Cities of Gold
Maybe Astroboy?

Hopefully, they'll be some indie films worth catching. Need to check the latest Little White Lies!

2009 is surely more notable for what looks like a string of unforgivable SIN-ema:

Night at the Museum 2
Alone in the Dark 2
Alvin and the Chipmunks 2
Dragonball
Saw VI
Funny People (starring Adam Sandler??)
Another Harry Potter movie
Guy Ritchie doing Holmes!
And, of course, TF2.

Add District 9 to the list of must see movies. Peter Jackson directing, just saw the preview. How did I miss this?

Still think Avatar will be the greatest movie experience in years though.

Producing, eh? Hmmm. May not be as good as I thought.

Still, watch the trailer and tell me what you guys think.

Saw Star Trek last night. Great flick! Not even a Trek fan, and I thought it was fantastic.

Article: http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/04/29/ste ... ns-avatar/

"It seems like every other week now a new filmmaker or studio executive makes a comment about how James Cameron’s Avatar is going to revolutionize cinema. Jon Favreau has called Avatar “a game-changer” and having seen some footage, he thinks “it’s the future.” Recently Sony head Amy Pascal told Forbes that she thinks Avatar is “going to change the way you consume entertainment. I don’t know that it will ever be the way you see dramas, but I can’t say anymore that it won’t be.” And Steven Spielberg has even predicted that Avatar will be the biggest 3-D live-action film ever.

Academy Award winning director Steven Soderbergh is the latest filmmaker to praise Cameron’s upcoming sci-fi epic: “I’ve seen some stuff and holy sh*t,” Soderbergh told ComingSoon . “It’s the craziest sh*t ever. That could negate everything I just said.”

Cameron’s new film is being treated like the second coming. I’m not sure how the film could possibly live up to all the ginormously hype. But just like all of you, I’m riding on the high buzz and hoping it will be great."

That would be Shymalan's Avatar, which gets the title The Last Airbender instead thanks to that Cameron there.

Yeah, definitely want to see that. Looks like it could be loads of quirky fun.

And the list grows. Saw the G.I.Joe trailer, and I hate to admit this, but it actually looked better than TF2.

You serious? I thought G.I Joe looked terrible. The dialogue is ropier than a ball of yarn...

Having said that, I thought the new Wolverine film looked great in the trailers, but it's gotten torn to bits by the critics.
