Clone Wars Animated Series

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Clone Wars Animated Series

Post by Yaya » Fri Oct 10, 2008 6:37 pm

It's excellent.

Yoda was better in these than he has been in the entire prequel trilogy. He actually laughs that crazy laugh, as Yoda should.

Animation is excellent. Story is very good these first two episodes.

Again, beware the dialogue obviously geared towards children, mainly from the Separatist battle droids.

Third episode tonight.

So what is it? A replacement for the cartoon series of 5 years ago, or does it feature "other adventures" of the Clone Wars period, or is it just a case of Lucas going "Well, it was good originally, but the technology's moved on so much since then! Gotta redo it!"?

It's other stories from that period of time.

I agree with you though, couldn't Lucus have chosen a time not so overexposed. We have Attack of the Clones, the animated Clone Wars series, the Clone Wars comic, and now this computer-animated Clone Wars series.

Still, it's actually quite fun. If you like Star Wars, that is.

Watched last nights episode. Thought it was excellent.

I'm telling you, if you yearn for the fun of the original trilogy, this series really hits home, unlike the rest of the prequel trilogy.

You should give it a try. Just watch the first three episodes. See what you think.

I loved the animated series, but I'm very skeptical of anything that doesn't involve Genndy Tartovsky

Just got done watching tonights episode.

I'm telling you, this is the best show on television.

It's certainly the best of anything Star Wars related since the original trilogy.

For those of you who wondered about the quality of this new Star Wars animated series, check out this link and forward to the end of the latest episode "Lair of Grievous".

There is a battle between Kit Fisto and General Grievous that is better than anything in the prequel movies.

The part after the commercial.

Check out the incredible animation in Cloak of Darkness and the battle at the end there too.

Wow

I think its rather interesting that in the series most jedi are like gods and in the movies they are killed in 1 second

For what it's worth Singapore is supposed to be first in Asia to get it on TV. Since it's supposed to be animated here and all. Third episode tonight, too.

I like the series - it's going somewhere - but seriously, LET the Separatists WIN for once! We can't go around pretending that they are a big bunch of wusses and then, WHAM, they are invading Coruscant in the next moment by Episode III.

At least they made fun of Jar-Jar. I laughed out loud when C3-PO says "Oh no! Jar Jar is dead... I always knew this would happen one day."

Is that in the series or in Episode III, because if Jar Jar is killed off in the series, then how will Lucas then explain his presence in the film?

Do you think fans really care if there's an explanation?

If Jar Jar died, would you need an explanation?

Would be time of celebration, not contemplation.

Nah, Jar-Jar doesn't die (sadly) but he messes up Amidala's meeting with the Rhodians, then tries to rescue her disguised as a Jedi. Much hilarity ensues. And at one point it looks like as if he has died, and C3-PO delivers the classics "You killed Kenny, you bastards!" line. :)

I also wish Grievous would be a more credible threat, badass-looking as he is, he hasn't proven to be such a master strategist so far. And the writers are messing with continuity again, he's always coughing when it was established that this was due to Mace Windu crashing his torso when he abducts Palpatine before Episode III - which hasn't happened yet.

YES.

I'm guessing Jar Jar doesn't do much of anything in this series. It does explain why the battle droids got the role of comedy relief, though. Different AI programming staff before the timeframe of Ep III, nobody's gonna notice, right?

Hafta say though, the bit where one of them actually talked to a cannon droid in the movie, that was a nice touch.

Love this. Just love it.

First episode of new season premiered tonight. Though Bane was cool. The animation just blows me away. Fav show on TV right now.

Saw some previews of the upcoming Season 3. This show just keeps getting better and better.

I have a feeling Lucus has found his gem and will be running with the format for a long time. Word is he cancelled the live action show that was planned, as the reception for Clone Wars has been overwhelming.

Don't you agree?

Yeah. I do.

And they're introducing a new Zabrak, Savaage. Apparently he's Darth Maul's brother (which may be on the silly side, but is consistent with the whole ridiculous relationship thing Lucus loves to throw in there).

This season is going to be insanely good.
