Heroes Season 3

You're right, it should have been, but how many times in my life will I get to say "Yes, I'm Batman"? In response to a genuine question, anyway...

Well, last nights episode, I have to say, was as good as the first season episodes.

Huh, it was okay. Disappointed that they went the route of killing characters for shock value though.

I dropped the show after the first episode of Fugitives.

I thought Villains was alright in a naff entertainment kinda way, though the random events plots and shocking swerves sort of undermined the coherency.

What I saw in the first ep of Fugs just left me not caring. If I'd thought for a moment they'd have the balls to follow through with the plane crash, then yeah... but I just know that all the boring people survived.

Is it worth my time catching up?

It's okay, but there's a lot of tedious Claire and her mother stuff to get through, which frankly I fastforwarded most of the time. I'm hoping last night's episode is taking us in a new and better direction.

Frankly, no, I don't think it is at this point.

Which "Last night's episode"? Exposed on BBC2, Shades of Gray on BBC3, or Cold Snap on NBC?

Interesting that NBC took a few weeks off, allowing BBC to catch up. I wonder if that was intentional, or just coincidence.

Actually, I take that back. Found out that the writer of last nights episode was the same writer from the first season.

He's back. No wonder it was so good!

Yeah, I would stay on if he's come back to write.

Er, spoilers, but rewatching the episode with the missus, it just seemed ridiculous.

"We're a top-level government agency, charged with apprehending people with superpowers. So, once we've captured a whole bunch of them, we'll leave them in an unguarded room with an easily-removable tube up their nose that keeps them asleep. If anyone should pull that tube out, though, they'd wake up in a second. With all their superpowers."

Yeah, that was ridiculous. I laughed out loud.

Season is over... and frankly, although the second half of Season 3 was predominantly boring and predictable, I quite liked this ending.

It was certainly surprising that they offed both Nathan and Sylar, and yet, neither are truly dead... but in a very weird way.

Also, the blonde (Nikkie?) is back with a pretty cool power, killing agents.

And someone decided that Hiro is too powerfull and has to have limits to his powers.

All in all, not a perfect season, but it was pretty OK for an endgame. Except, that Noah could just waltz into the White House with a gun. Really.

And that idiotic yugoslavian guy... that "Hunter". He was a boring and stupid character, not to mention so short that even Claire towers above him - it was very hard to ever take him seriously.

The biggest issue I had with the season finale was that there was no reason for Nathan to have died. They have Claire's blood, they can bring anyone back from the dead, if it worked for Noah after getting shot in the face it should work for Nathan too.

Other than that I found season 3 entertaining, despite the occasional strange things like what I mentioned above. It's like the writers came up with these ideas that worked well earlier, but became too powerful of a "get out of jail free" device. Hiro and Peter's time traveling, Claire's blood. Oh well.

However, Nathan has already been restored to health through Adam's regenerative ability. Possibly twice, if you include the 'unexplained' recovery post-gunshot. So, you have to wonder what prevented recovering from a slit throat?

Yeah, that's my issue. Noone even mentioned the idea, and it can't be because none of those people know about it, Peter did it after he exploded Nathan (or was that the blonde guy from Alias? I can't remember which did it at that point but either way Peter was in the room). Just seems one of the writers had an idea of where they wanted to take things and decided to ignore facts from previous seasons in order to get there.
