As a few of you may know, I went to the LFC this weekend. Man, I'm knackered now, but it was so worth it.
Well, I'm back. Actually I got back last night, but I've only just become awake enough to post anything about it...
My day began at 4am, as I awoke to get ready for the day. Here I am:
See? Awake. Kinda.
Anyways, I finally got to the con, and I met Margot Kidder.
(my friend's in this pic, but she doesn't want her face on t'internet, so I've cropped her out. Hence, it looks a lil weird.)
Ahem. *LOIS-SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
Margot was tremendously cool, she signed my complete Superman set on the front cover, and asked me, while doing it, which version of Superman II I preferred. 'Why, the Donner,' I replied. Her face visibly lit up, and we then talked for about a minute and half why this is the case.
I then pinched myself a few million times, to check whether this actually happened. Yes folks, I had a fanboy moment. But then, I *had* just talked to Lois Lane.
Next, I met the fifth Doctor:
Peter was kind enough to sign my Earthshock DVD for me, and was very nice. He's a true gent.
That was it for signing for me, I looked but couldn't find Paul Freeman , and the queues seemed too darn long for me to be arsed to be in all day, so I walked about instead, looking at stalls and taking photos of everyone who'd gotten dressed up for the event:
He liked it when I called him a 'pretty mother ******'.
The Joker, Scarecrow and the gang were around all day. And they were so freakin' cool. The guy playing the Joker blew me away at how great he looked.
Continuing the DC theme:
I talked to Ivy for a bit, she was nice, and didn't try to turn me into a shrubbery.
Harley and Catwoman were in character all the time; I think I got a bit of a crush on Harley, to be honest.
Star Wars had good representation too:
Stormtroopers look cool. They really do. I want to be one.
Jango actually was from New Zealand, and is a Conchords fan. Who knew.
While I milled around outside, I saw:
Geehee. Although I wouldn't have wanted to be in that costume in the heat. Nosers.
I had to run away at one point, from this guy:
Thankfully, I had transportation.
Not that it mattered. I just ran into another frakkin' toaster.
But no sooner had I run from him, than I ran into an old friend, who had just decided he didn't like being called 'pretty' after all:
I did see Tom Savini and John Landis about though:
All too soon, it was over, and I had to get back to KX for my train. Here's a pic of me looking awake and alert:
Yeah. Real alert there, dweeb.
Anyhow, I had a blast. I'm going again, next year.
Is it next year, yet?
