Chicago

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

So continuing the Tyler Durden lifestyle, I'm in the JAL lounge at Chicago airport, about to head to Tokyo and ultimately Singapore.

Danglo, if you're reading this, I only get two hours at Tokyo Narita, so there's no point in trying to meet up...and I'm going back to London after Singapore this week, but as soon as I head back out to Asia properly I'll book a week or two in Japan and we'll do lunch :)

It's weird. I just shaved my head (#2 all over) so I' going to find some of those cool sunglasses Brad Pitt has at the end of Fight Club.

Besty, will have to meet up when I'm back in Blighty :)

Business class kicks ass. Pour your own G&Ts? Lovely.

Devil gin. I knew it wouldn't be long before I got back into that rotten stuff.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Sounds like you're enjoying life :)

Here's hoping your travels take you to Malmö or Copenhagen
Can't believe I'm still here.

In the smoking area at Tokyo Narita

No Turansformaru in evidence though, loads of Gundam stuff, but thankfully I already bought my Tf-related gifts in Bs As.

Kinda disappointed, I thought there would be a toystore with loads of cool TF stuff like there was in Hong Kong.

Anyway, on to Singapore...

Look out your window when you land.

If they still have that crazy airport smack dab in the middle of the city like they did when I was there, you're in for a thrill.

I swear you could almost reach out and touch them skyscrappers.

Has a reputation as the most dangerous airport in the world.

Maybe they got rid of it? Anybody know?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Narita isn't exactly the nicest airport to hang around anyway. I'm always glad to just get out of there.

Hey, MV. Do you think you'll have time for a quick meet and greet with Aaron while you're in Singapore? :)

I think it would be good for both of you.

It was replaced as the international airport in 1998 by the one made from island reclamation.

I'm free tomorrow to meet up with Aaron - I've always wondered what he's like :)

So my hotel is smack in the middle of the red light district, which is, um, interesting to say the least.

Besty, I'm racking my brains to remember the cool TF store in HK...will post back when I remember.

Aha, well remembered.

Will have to be when I fly back out here in a month then.

Besty, sorry, I've no idea where that store was (and it was over a year ago, it may not still exist)...it was dirt cheap for Japanese imports though, that's where I picked up my MP Convoy with trailer... :( sorry dude, memory must be slipping.

I hope it's a Hotel 81. Those guys seem to clean their rooms the most. :) I think there's a flea market street in that neighbourhood - sometimes you find TF parts but most often, nothing.
