Live Action GIJOE. Destro will be a Shouty Northerner.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

So we've gone from unknown Thesp doubtlessly cast for his ability to play the role... to Ecclescake. Who is well known for his Scottishness.

At least, if we're lucky, he'll be under a mask.
Grrr. Argh.

I hope he returns to Heroes at some point.

So, a G.I.Joe live action flick surely won't have the pulling power of Transformers will it?

Has to be said all of Stephen Sommers' films suck.

I wonder how long it'll be before someone decides to make "the inevitable" cross-over...

It's not outside the realms of credibility. They're both Paramount/Hasbro and produced by Lorenzo. I'm surprised the rumours aren't circulating already.

Given the focus on the soldiers in the TF movie, somebody could probably come along and make a "hilarious" joke that we've already gotten one.

TBH I'm sure I've read Bay saying that he based the movie soldiers on GI Joe in the first place.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

From imdb:
Don Murphy originally intended to make a "G.I. Joe" (1985) film in 2003, but he instead negotiated with the Hasbro Company for a "Transformers" (1984) film. However, there are references to G.I. Joe that are spread over the film: - The soldiers in the film were inspired by G.I. Joe - Captain William Lennox, in particular, first appeared in the comic book "G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers" - One of the F-22 Pilots has the name Capt B. Armbuster written on his cockpit. Armbuster is a part of the G.I. Joe Team and was more commonly known by his code name Ace.
