If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Righty, I've got a small problem.

On some of my slide pages, I have drawn autoshapes which obscure my slide numbers.

Is there anyway to bring the autonumber layer 'above' the shape layer?

If there isn't, that's a pretty big oversite isn't it? It's effing stupid is what it is.

You should be able to right-click on either one of the objects and have something like 'Arrange' as an option, within that being something like 'Send to back, move up, move down, bring to front'?

Microsoft help linky thing

I tried that, did it work?

Did it [composite word including 'f*ck'].

Poxy load of bum. I didn't make the thing, so they may have done a right number on it - I'm trying to fix it for an idiot.

If that doesn't work then God only knows :( Is it something to do with the slide numbers possibly being embedded in an image set as the slide background? Editting slideshows made by halfwits is always horrid :(

Can you cut the autoshapes and then "paste to back"? Something like that? It's been ages since I used Powerpoint...
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Normally you Right click on the shape and select order and then 'send to back' but that wont work as the number is part of the background, not the active slide.

So basically if you really want to have a page no you are just gonna have to create a text box over the shape and slap it in manually.

Suggest you make the shape transparant so you cna line them up/match size and then switch it back when you are done (and then send the shape to the back)

Hold ctrl or shift and use teh arrow keys to align the text book with a fine degree of control.

Yeah, in the end I made the shapes transparent and added the numbers with text boxes - or rather, I told Mrs. Presentations to do that, because I had no intention of doing all her manual guff myself.

Its plain daft that you cannot do it automatically.
