If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Where would you like to go?

Having more or less decided to go to Africa this year (yay!)
![Smile :)](images/smilies/smile.gif)
if work and finances permit, I was thinking this morning of other places I'd like to visit
1. Iceland, because it must be amazingly beautiful
2. Russia, especially St. Petersburg and maybe travelling on the orient express
3. America (the US), to see what it's really like, because from seeing it on tv (in the news and the movies) it sounds like a surreal place
Where would you like to go?

I really wanna visit Iceland and Japan. They seem like friendly and nice places
I'll hopefully visit both Iceland and Japan in two years time. I'm trying to save up some money for it.
What part of Africa will you visit?
Can't believe I'm still here.

The south.

Namibia and South Africa, possibly Botswana. Depends on time and money, plans still have to be made.
Japan sounds very interesting too.

I really hope to go to Brazil this year to see a friend. Funds permitting. (I opted out of a trip to Iceland this month for that reason).

I expect I'll return to Ireland some time soon.
If only to be the catalyst for another of Dara Ó Briain's jokes.

PARIS! Lads, Paris.
I'd rather like to take a long train-trip and see most of Europe by train, and bike, living the good life.
I suppose Japan could be interesting too, but I dunno' I don't usually like crowded places.

The Australia/NZ region, definitely.
And Europe, of course. Russia as well. I mean, there's lots of places I'd like to visit in France, UK, Germany, etc. for the culture, but I'd love to visit Italy, Greece, Turkey, Russia, etc. for the history.
You say surreal like it's a good thing, Eline. :P

I'd love to do Ireland again, esp. Belfast and the northern coast.
Ethiopia. Jerusalem. India. Anyplace with a long religious history.

Ironically, many places with a long religious history might put an end to your own.
Now that that's out of the way...
I'd like to visit England. I'm hoping to spend a few days there in July or August.
Also, not all of Japan is super crowded. Stay away from Tokyo and chunks of Osaka and you'll be fine.
