Deadwood

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Simply amazing television, and in Al Swearengen surely one of the greatest TV characters ever.

Apparently this show has 1.56 "f***s per minute". Impressive.

It's looking increasingly unlikely that the TV movies will get made to wrap the whole thing up, but treasure the flawless 3 seasons they made.

Brend, you finished these yet?

Oh yes. Quality stuff, though the end of season 3 is pretty deflating when you know there's nothing afterwards. :(

And yeah, Carnivale is just absolutely mind-blowingly awesome too.
Grrr. Argh.

I was just relieved it didn't end on a big cliffhanger. But it did finish a bit downbeat, and a lot of the character arcs are left hanging.

Been reading up online about the real life Deadwood since. A lot more of the characters are based on real people than I realised. And Timothy Olyphant's tache has got nothing on the real Bullock's: ;)

Apparently Deadwood was burnt down - seems a logical way to have concluded the series if they'd had chance.

Dead Wood is pretty awesome  I also used to love following the Sopranos but I missed a series and now I don't understand what's happening :(

Sopranos is great, though I'm only 4 seasons in.

Was Sopranos cancelled, or was Season 7 planned to be the last?

No it's not cancelled, they are going to wrap it all up. I forget if it suffered the same problem as Dead Wood- that is was meant to be going on longer but because the actors were demanding such fees they had to cut their plans back.

What will happen to Tony? I'm willing to bet it will involve a simmering look and that creepy heavy breathing :o

Very creepy.

Season 4 was wonderfully violent.

That said, Deadwood season 3 had someone get their eye ripped from its socket. Quite the eye opener if you will.
