Im making a transformer! - and i call him, boat engine...

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Just starting my final year at uni, and in the final year we have to work on some giant project.
Ive chosen to build an electric outboard motor, for small boats, with the key feature being that it can 'transform' into a smaller more portable unit.
Reaserch will involve looking at lots of transforming devices for good mechanisms?

Any ideas on transforming devices? ;)

Retractibility/Telescopy is always an advantage in such devices.

Outside of tv and film, all I can think of as real world examples are sofabeds.
