Okay, this is the last one, since I'm not reading whatever big fightfest DC is putting on atm. Again, pick the best response and elaborate.
I did not read all the tie-ins.
But what I did read was, for me, utter gash. Just...it had almost everything I don't like about superhero comics, into one over-indulgent, self-important load of twaddle. That also had crap art. And the changes it brought if for DC are largely bleh.
So, boo Infinite Crisis, I guess. Thanks.

It was OK. Atleast the first half, and the first issues last page made me spaff in my pants, fanboy that I am.
Then the art turned to gash, and things got a bit out of hand. By far the best part was The Secret Files & Origins special tho. Where they explained how the heroes from last crisis became the villains.
The last two issues was probably the worse... mainly because the artist had a fill-in from teh Perez, and his pages were luv'ly. But the main artist's was not. Rather obvious how messed up things got there, 20 diff inkers, and several pages WITHOUT inks, wherein several were not even properly coloured. BAH!
I still say it was all the fault of a certain big negative lad with very bad teeth.
Read Sinestro Corps. Luv'ely use of the opportunities IC opened up.

TBH, IC is what brought me back into buying monthlies.
I was a HUGE fan of COIE, so when I heard Alexander Luthor, Superboy Prime, and Earth 2 Superman were on the scene, I was like, "Wow, bad ASS!"
And then I bought it, and it was aiiiight. The idea of IC is a good one. But what purpose did Conner Kent's death really serve? The DCU before was gray and troubled, even in the Trinity, and now it's...what? Whatever sort of demarcation of pre-IC/post-IC was poorly done.
Plus, the art in IC was rushed and jumbled, which sucked. Although I'm not sure if that sucked more than waiting for McNiven to get his s*** together on CW.
BUT, because of IC I ended up reading 52, and because I didn't read the DCU aside from IC, I managed to avoid all the OYL debacle, so really it worked out well for me, and that's all that matters.
I feel bad for DCU fans. I mean, even *I* have event fatigue with them, and I've only been onboard since Infinite Crisis, not Identity Crisis. Countdown has been a pile of s***, but when you say "multiverse," I want to believe that things will turn out alright, because there's nothing I love more than alternate universes messing around with the status quo.
Overall, if Final Crisis turns out to be totally awesome, then IC was a below average act of a play. But if Final Crisis is nothing but a continuity bandaid on an unraveling DCU, then Infinite Crisis was undoubtedly the straw that broke the camel's back.
BTW....I'll get around to answering your CW/WWH threads too.
