DVD ripping

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Anybody know a good tool for quick, easy and free ripping of DVDs to avi or whatever?

I can do realtime copying, but... well... it's realtime copying.

Thanks for being a star, whoever helps me.

I use dvdshrink to copy my films

http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?listuser ... pe&s=30#30

you can use one of these programs to convert into anything you like.

I use a licensed program and these are all free ones.
I knew a great ripper which converted in to anything you liked. but I can't remember the program's name :O:O...I have it on my old computer but its getting repaired.....cause it ...well ...it kinda melted :O:O

Go to isohunt and type in dvd ripper and take the one with the most seeds.

I'm using one called dvd ripper platinum 4.

It's ok.

Depends what you want out. DVD Shrink's handy for getting double layer discs onto regular 4.7Gb blanks, keeping subs.

For AVI, a combination of DVD Decrypter, FlaskMPEG and DivX has served well in the dim and distant past when I bothered. These days, XMPEG is probably a whole lot simpler.
