If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

A week today and I would have been a member of Transfans for 7 years. That doesn't include the time on the
old style message board either.
My longest relationship ever

. I feel bad I haven't contributed more really (I still have a stack of cartoon reviews to do).
How and when did your love affair with Transfans begin?
I vaguely remember Transfans being the first Transformer site I found via Yahoo. I lurked for months as I couldn't accept the fan that after so many years I was still a Transformers fan, it was like coming out all over again!

7 years in October.
Basically i found transfans as i was unemployed and had nowt better to do - i think i may have looked at the site before then at uni but the internet at Sheffield was so cack that i kind of gave up.
I always retained my TF love though, i had Hot Rod and Pipes on my shelf at uni for all 4 years and would regularly reread the comics when i was home at summer/xmas.
Having found teh discussion board, as i think i may have relayed before, i was provoked into posting by some joker who had laughingly called hmself something like Doctor Slick and had made a post saying Blaster is rubbish.
When clearly he is ace.
I was then further shocked to find out both that some people thought the cartoon was better and some people voted Rebuplican. Imagine!
Anyway, i stuck around, was a bit sarcastic, made a lot of signatures, got made a mod (cos i was one of the reasonable ones, ha!) then an admin and then basically over the years progressed to the evil overlord that i am today.
i have had a few breaks, but i can't stay away for long. I am sure it will cost me my job at some point.
Basically you all owe me your lives. And lots of money.

I think I first found the site on my mum's internet tv, were there box scans years back under Omega's erm... leadership?
Forgot about it then and a while later a friend showed me the site as I had got him hooked on TF's.
Hehe come to think of it I re-introduced a few elephant employees back to the bots and cons.

Here's to another 7 years Hound.

You're by far one of the best, cool-headed and most polite gents on this board.
I think I found the site by some random search too. And I think it may have been because I found a few scans of comics on some other site, and was looking for more.
Imagine my eyes when I hit upon the mother-load.

I think I found my way to the site through the TFArchive.
I came for the comic talk and Big Brotherish Optimus Prime staring down upon my text in the upper left hand corner.
But I stay for my fellow Furman Fanboys, intelligent metaphysical/political conversation, and of course spectacular English hospitality. If hospitality includes calling people idiots and telling them to piss off in addition to getting to use words like "ace," "pants," and "innit."

Don't forget the bollocks. Mind the bollocks.
I think I improperly used "take a piss" a while ago. Still trying.

I haven't been checking this site as much as I've wanted lately because my job is sucking. I missed you guys <3
I came here through TFArchive myself and decided to take the plunge and actually post on a board for a change rather than just reading stuff and being too shy to comment.

Seven years for me this October! TBH It's been so long I don't even remember how I came across this place... I seem to recall I was looking out for a place to show some fiction I'd written and get a little feedback and this place came up from Yahoo, I had a look around and descended to give it a try

Christ almighty a lot has happened since then.
Congrats houndlet!

You weren't supposed to take it. There was a hook in it.
I think it's been three and a half years. Bloody hell, I was supposed to have grown out of this by now...

Half a decade for me. I waded into a debate about The Wreckers personnel that Rebis and Impy were having.
I didn't have a comp back then and checked in once a week at my Mum's house.
I had stumbled upon the website briefly in the Nineties, and was amazed that anyone cared about TFs anymore.
With the revamp some silly bugger made me a mod.
Then some other lunatic made me an admin. Result!
I'll always be here, I know that much. TFs are just too bloody important! And the company isn't too shabby either.

Still here after 6.5 years. Can't believe it.

I really love this place and the company, even though I have now learnt that there are other foumns existing on the internet.

Ob, remember your thread asking if any TFs had ever died in the comics? It went for like 20 pages. Oops.

Of course, back then you had to view their profile to find out when they'd joined, and having only been on the site myself for a few months at that time, I was somewhat surprised to see that Dave was a newcomer.
6 years in 2 months.

Cool.

I certainly hit the ground running.
