Just for fun but i am intrigued as to what some people's answers may be. Some questions are more personal than others so whether you answer or pass or skip the topic entirely is up to you.
Also suggest discussion of/responses to other people's answers should be kept out of this topic.

Re: Getting to know you...
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Perfect happiness? Having so much money that I don't have to work, so I can hang out with my friends and have a laugh, travel, learn stuff and just do **** I really wanna do.
What is your greatest fear?
Being stuck at a crap job, nine hours a day, the rest of my life.
Edit: also, having a kid.
Which living person do you most admire?
I don't really admire anyone.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
That I judge people before I meet them/talk to them/get to know them (it saves me a lot of disappointment though. So I actually don't deplore it that much).
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
That they are stupid and only care about themselves.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Hm... I'm not that easily embarrassed - but I find it pretty embarrassing that I stayed together with my ex for three boring years.
What vehicle do you own?
This bad boy! (the car in the picture is not mine).
A red Volkswagen Golf GTI -89.
What objects do you always carry with you?
My cell phone, my keys and my wallet.
Where would you like to live?
Where I live now.
What is your most unappealing habit?
I don't find it unappealing - but others might not like that I occasionally walk around without underwear.
What is your favourite smell?
My bed! It smells fantastic.
What is your favourite word?
It's a tie between Dude, Sweet and Awesome.
What is your favourite book?
George Carlin - Napalm and silly putty (might not be considered a "real book").
Do you believe in monogamy?
I believe in what works for you, works for you.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I don't know. I mean, how do you know? I've been with my girlfriend for two and a half years now, and if we're still together when I die, then I guess she's the greatest love of my life.
When and where were you happiest?
I have no idea. But I was quite happy when I qualified for the Champions League with Malmö FF in Football Manager 2007.
How often do you have sex?
That depends if my girlfriend is living in Malmö (my hometown) or if she's off living in Glasgow, halfway across Sweden or France (she moved to France yesterday) But when she's living in Malmö we usually hang out twice a week, and fornicate like 90% of the times. So... 1,8 times a week?
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
A record deal for my mates band.
What would your motto be?
-
What keeps you awake at night?
Mosquitoes.
How would you like to die?
Uhm... while saving a dog or cat, or any other animal from a fiery death!
Do you believe in life after death?
No.
How would you like to be remembered?
I want people to remember me as a bitter and funny guy.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Don't trust anyone - they'll [composite word including 'f*ck'] you over no matter who they are.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Oh, crap. Okay, it's so bad that it's only recently that I've been able to talk about it. I called up one of my wife's friends for some invitation or something--and my wife had described this person in intense detail, so I felt like I knew her--and I made a joke in the conversation, which I won't repeat, but which could not have sounded like anything but me hitting on her. We haven't heard from her since.
What vehicle do you own?
A mountain bike, a skateboard, and a slightly worn Honda 98 Accord.
What objects do you always carry with you?
The weight of fatherhood. And a book in case I get bored.
Where would you like to live?
I really like the Northwest. Either in Seattle, within the city itself, or Portland, or one of these little college towns like Bellingham.

I'm whiny.
What is your favourite smell?

Do you know I just learned of the existence of the words fellatio and cunnilingus? How did I go so long without hearing such lofty terms for oral sex?
What is your favourite book?
Heh. There's a lot. A three-way tie between Lord of the Rings, Huckleberry Finn and Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried. Followed closely by Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, Octavia Butler's Wild Seed, anything by Neil Gaiman or George R.R. Martin... Best books I've read lately were, for fiction: Middle Passage by Charles Johnson, and nonfiction: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. There are more.
Do you believe in monogamy?
When Chrissy's watching. SNAP!
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Transfans, but Chrissy and Adia make a distant second.
When and where were you happiest?
Probably... hmm, as far as like euphoric dreamy delight, the first three weeks of dating my wife were really good.
How often do you have sex?
You know what? I was going to come up with a vague, snappy answer to this but everyone else has and I think I need to be honest. About three-four times a week. Before the baby was born, about once a day. When we were fighting a lot, about twice a day.

How would you like to die?
Either doing something that would provide me, before death, with some sensation I couldn't get any other way--like falling from a great height (god loves his children, god loves his children yeah) or surrounded by family.
Do you believe in life after death?
Ask me again in seventy years.
How would you like to be remembered?
Seriously? As a genius. I would also like to be remembered as a good father, a good husband, a good teacher, but the deep dark selfish desire of my heart is that people will sigh and say, "What a genius. The world will never see his like again."
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Don't get angry.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?
I was in grade school and a boy who had a crush on me drew a picture of me. I didn't like it and hadn't cottoned to the fact that he liked me, so I threw it away right in front of him. Similarly, I was in grade7 or so when a boy I secretly liked but picked fights with on a continual basis to hide the fact that I liked him asked me out- and I, never having been asked out before and prone at that time to nervous bouts of laughter, promptly laughed in his face. I knew full well it was an inappropriate response and desperately wanted to stop and say yes, but I could not stop so I simply walked away... and yes, I was still laughing as I went.
I always wondered what happened to the poor guy and I feel a bit gutted for him whenever I think of it.

What vehicle do you own?
I own my feets.
What objects do you always carry with you?
My purse full of scary woman things.

Yes.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
meh.
When and where were you happiest?
A very long time ago- Roaming my grandpa's pastures, hanging out with his horses, playing on hay bales and catching mice and frogs.
How often do you have sex?
Not as often as I'd like.
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
More friends.
What would your motto be?
Meh
What keeps you awake at night?
Worrying about finding work
How would you like to die?
Quietly with as little pain as possible. Or doing something awesome.
Do you believe in life after death?
Sure. Everything else usually keeps on living, after all... til they die, of course.
How would you like to be remembered?
I would just like to be remembered.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Chill.

Re: Getting to know you...
This is a great topic Besters. Something that I think it's 'bout time we regulars did.
==========================
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Having all of my family and friends close by, so I can be with them every day.
In the arms of those I love. Alas... this is denied most of us, aye? Especially me...
What is your greatest fear?
DEATH. Sometimes I get so scared of death lying awake at night, that I just toss about, almost crying. Not just for myself, and what may or may not happen ( millions of possibilities) after I die, but also that death may take away the people I love.
Which living person do you most admire?
Wow. That's a tough question. I'm not sure... Most of the peeps I truly admire have been dead for decades... Maybe Hans Blix? He's great.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
My apathy and lack of action, and my insensitivity towards people not well.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Cruelty. Ego. Substance-abuse.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Dear lord..! Too many to count. Maybe when I threw up IN CLASS in 9th grade..?
What vehicle do you own?
A bicycle.
What objects do you always carry with you?
Mobile phone, keys, swiss army knife, wallet, old BIG key-chain without keys for no reason.
Where would you like to live?
In this city, but perhaps somewhere overlooking water, instead of an industrial rail-road and storage-area.
What is your most unappealing habit?
Probably the whole not showering thing. Used to be gouging out boogers and littering 'em about, but I stopped.
What is your favourite smell?
Salted sea-slime and vanilla.
What is your favourite word?
F*ck.
What is your favourite book?
I can't recall. So I'll use a comic-book. Absolute Little Nemo collection.
Do you believe in monogamy?
Yes. Why? Because nothing else would ever work for someone as insecure and jealous as me. Simple as that.
YA' CANNAE TOUCHAE ME IMAGINARY GIRRLY BESTERS!!
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I have no romantical love. My greatest intellectual loves are Jack Kirby and Nicola Tesla.
When and where were you happiest?
Age 5, almost falling asleep next to my gramps. Had a great day.
How often do you have sex?
Let me put it like this... Both every day, and never.
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
Getting a platypus immune-vaccine that would get rid of my asthma and allergies.
What would your motto be?
My dreams are the future.
What keeps you awake at night?
Death. Worries of disease and misfortune about my family.
How would you like to die?
120 years old, falling asleep with all of my family around me.
Do you believe in life after death?
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Can't give any better answer than that.
How would you like to be remembered?
And someone both kind, and daring to dream the impossible.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That everybody lie, but not always out of spite.
Well... that, and that I'm gullible as all hell.

Re: Getting to know you...
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Freedom makes me happy, to think that I can just pack up and go wherever I fancy if I choose and there is nothing to stop me.
What is your greatest fear?
Being alone.
Which living person do you most admire?
Probably Bowie.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
My emotional nature.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Indifference or abuse, whether willfull or through ignorance, of other people's emotions or physical wellbeing.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Probably the time I ran out of school when a young man I had a crush on fell out with me. The school showed my 'love letters' to my father.
What vehicle do you own?
I'm a pedestrian.
What objects do you always carry with you?
Usually my keys, wallet and phone. Often my leather gloves too.
Where would you like to live?
I am looking to move to Japan within two years, but I fear I will never be happy in any one place for long.
What is your most unappealing habit?
I sometimes smoke when stressed, I am also very defensive around new people and can come across as aloof/detached/snobbish.
What is your favourite smell?
The smell of a quilt I've had ever since I was tiny. It lives in a cupboard... just in case I want it sometime.
What is your favourite book?
The Silmarillion (JRR Tolkien and Christopher Tolkien) with The Lord of the Rings a damn close second.
Do you believe in monogamy?
For me, yes.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My girlfriend.
When and where were you happiest?
My life with my partner now. Despite my debts and other problems I wouldn't change it if it meant losing my personal life.
How often do you have sex?
two or three times a week, sometimes more.
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
I'm hideously in debt, but slowly working my way out of it. About £5000 would pay it all off.
What would your motto be?
My family motto is 'Semper Consto Et Fidelis' - Always Constant and Faithful
What keeps you awake at night?
Worrying about the future, usually to do with my debt and fearing I will lose my freedom.
How would you like to die?
If I've got to die then it would be nice for it to at least help someone (I'm a registered organ donor) so saving someone's life would be a good note to leave on, I think.
Do you believe in life after death?
Against all logical reason, yes.
How would you like to be remembered?
Just for every now and again for people who knew me to say to one another over a beer or something "Hey, you remember that time with Karl when..." and people would smile and think fondly of me.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That I'm always going to be surprised. Susprised by the hatred mankind has for one another, and for the kindness and love a passing stranger will show you despite it not benefitting them in any way. How the world can throw problem after problem at you until it feels like you're going under, and then for no reason at all the clouds break and suddenly its like a helping hand has been offered. I'm always going to be surprised by how events unfold, even if the events themselves are normally not news to me.
